Sorry. I felt bad for asking when I found out it was actually a bad meaning, and I can't delete posts. @MelodyS88Chi-PGO is correct.
-
Haha. Okay. In what region? Just really curious about language and your answer makes me think it's an NSFW google. (I don't need a definition here, just wondering which friend to ask.)
-
I don't understand the people saying it doesn't qualify. I'm not saying you're wrong (or right) I'm just looking for clarification. From OP's description, it's pointing a direction to go on a named trail. Why is that not a trail marker? Is it because it's not the exact circle with arrow shape from the clarification thread?…
-
This topic is specifically about people creating lvl 1 Ingess or PoGo alt accounts in order to get around forum bans. I don't think OP is in any way saying new forum users should have restrictions. Under the proposal, a level 38 in PoGo making their first post here would still be treated the same as some who made 1000…

Step 5 result: failure. Help chat rejected again for "not meeting removal criteria". They are 7 fakes with geotagged photos of them not existing and photospheres of them never existing. I guess I'll just leave them in the game. Maybe try again next year after they've got a new batch of Help Chat interns that won't close…

You don't need in-game reports for 3rd party photos. Regardless of whether the spot exists, the 3rd party photo makes it invalid. There's no need to visit in person.
-
Here's the post with an extensive list of clarifications: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/comment/143335#Comment_143335

I would vote them separate. As @Gazzas89-PGO mentioned, there was a recent comment by Giffard that a path separating two sets of playground equipment counted as two wayspots.
-
How long would the preparation take?
-
Sorry. I definitely see how I came off as criticizing you for raising the Poland issue. I intended specifically to request that "yelling" and insults not clog up this thread in response to your post. I've got no problem with either your initial post or civil input from opposing viewpoints.
-
That makes sense. As you noted, many of those things already exist in some form, though. I'll agree to disagree that it's a reason to stop the creation of a universal Lightship tool, but thanks for the answer.
-
Only the < 20m ones though, right? The post I replied to was concerned about spoofers using Lightship to find remote gyms, but a remote gym is unlikely to have anything within 20m of it.
-
There was a post by someone from Niantic earlier this year that benches (not memorial specifically, but the same logic would apply) on hiking trails are acceptable because they encourage moving down the trail. I'll see if I can find it to link when I have more time.
-
Thanks for adding a reply so there could be an actual discussion. Btw, "bots" was a joke and I'm sorry if it was seen as an accusation.
-
I don't follow. Surely they can currently use the Ingress Intel map to find these out-of-the-way gyms as remote gyms won't be within 20m of another gym? They also use scanners to find new gyms in populated areas. Is there some reason I'm missing that these tool don't work to find gyms to target?

I don't have problems with any of the people involved in the Polish disputes. I just don't want them derailing this thread and getting it shut down, as has happened in the past. If they want to give their opinions about the topic that would be great! I just don't want to start with the endless insults, accusations, and mod…
-
Definitely. There's certainly no problem with a person disagreeing maybe because they think playground equipment should be multiple wayspots or whatever, but 11 disagreements on such a topic seems unnatural. Especially over such a short amount of time. I'm pretty sure even if someone posted "Niantic is dumb, I will never…
-
Why on earth are their 11 disagrees with the above comment? It's very standard and not controversial. I don't even think the great UK trail markers debate generated that many dislikes on a single post. For people (alts? bots? cabals?) smashing disagree, you do realize that forum opinions don't affect the rating of your…

Can the group from Poland please start your own thread to yell at each other so the rest of us can continue to discuss this important topic? (Or ignore @XeZar66-ING for once, maybe?)
-
You'd probably need some kind of article from the neighborhood or artist's website explaining what it is and why it was installed (eg. "Local Neighborhood uses Recycled Signs to Save the Whales"). As @sogNinjaman-ING wrote, reviewers might suspect a homemade attempt.
-
If Niantic removed it as a duplicate, it would be nice for them to clarify that. The current assumption on this thread seems to be it was removed as temporary. (Fixed a typo and my original post went into mod limbo. Sorry in advance for the duplicate post.)
-
It looks cool to me, but I think you'll run into a problem because there just isn't any info from a quick Google search about the live shows it hosts apart from their website saying they host them. If you could find something with a schedule or performance reviews or something, you'd have a much better chance. Also, the…
-
And now I'll need 5. Help Chat Round 3 as they said I should send geotagged photos then closed the ticket immediately even though I did send geotagged photos. Step 6. should probably be a forum post, I guess. @NianticGiffard Could the Help Chat be changed to not immediately close tickets and allow people a chance to…
-
Maybe, but it's not like these things don't exist already. I expect the license terms are such that they aren't liable. Adding a bit of protection for reviewers is better than none, imho.
-
Cool. No harm in trying. This thread does make me want them to add a link scanner. They don't have to implement it themselves. There are plenty 3rd party services that offer them. Of Niantic got one and advertised their use and which service on the review site, more reviewers might be willing to click on links. Plus, it…
-
Not familiar with the guidance in question, so hopefully some else can post, but I would assume it's the same case as a church and church sign? The sign can be a proxy if it isn't interesting on it's own, but then it's a duplicate if the church is already approved. That's how I've been handling clubhouse signs, at any rate.
-
Regardless of what Niantic replies here, I don't expect any reviewers to change their mind about clicking on them (or QR codes as was floating around in that other thread). Now, if Niantic added link scanners to check for phishing, maybe, but given Niantic's reputation I doubt many reviewers would trust them to do it…
-
They could also do playground east and playground west or something like that.
-
Yeah, probably reviewers rated the title low for including the ages. Delete that and you should be fine. (Ignore this side-track if you want, but did the basketball court ever go through?)
-
I would guess more reviewers use mobile because there will be more people casually doing reviews when they have a few minutes to fill, rather than sitting down with the purpose of doing them. On the other hand, from an quantity standpoint, the people blocking out time to do them probably do do more reviews total.
