  • Instead of telling us how disgusted you are and how disgusting we are, how about telling us exactly how you would fix it (apart from making it so that all your submissions go through automatically)?
  • Like @LukeAllStars-PGO says, only Niantic know for sure. However, best guess is that the way point remains in voting until as certain number of reviewers have had their say. No one knows the number of reviewers it takes (though there have been hints that it varies based on number of reviewers in the area) or what metrics…
  • This looks like an easy 4-5 star to me. It's marked on Google maps, there is street view. Their website supports everything you say about it. The only problem I can see is that a first glance it looks like small art and/or antiques shop. I would probably go with: Title: "Art Gallery Mansarda" Description: Small art gallery…
  • My first though was that it was just a lifeguard hut. You really need to get close enough to show some kind of signage saying that it is a surf school. At the moment, the photo is a silhouette of a beach hut that could be anything.
  • I assume this bowling alley is a one off and not part of a chain? If so, all I can think of to change would be to drop 'hyperspot' (which is overstating it a tad). Also the 'for adults' bit in the last line. Over sensitive reviewers might see that as falling foul of the 'no adult orientated businesses' rule. Remember, it…
  • Without at least the title and description you put with it, it's difficult to tell. Is there anything special about this snooker hall? Anything that makes it different? Is it the only one for miles around or just one of many? In general though, I suspect it's getting turned down for being a generic business (even though…
  • Oh, I understand why, and I expect to see that kind of activity in the game. I'm just disappointed that it is appearing here in the community too.
  • Many of this players appeals have looked suspicious and have been denied. It would be good to have proof he is using misleading photos to make fake appeals. I hope you post the pics even though the appeal has already been denied.
  • I worry with that would cause those reviewers only looking for upgrades or medals to just one star 200 submissions per hour. They would probably still get a 30-40% agreement rate. The only metric that we know for sure is used to calculate the reviewer rating is time spent per review. If one stars are left out of that, what…
  • How do people get to the restaurant in the basement?
  • What would you suggest? Baring in mind that the solution can't be prohibitively manpower intensive or technically difficult to implement.
  • I would consider each one on it's own merits. Not all stencil art is created equal. That said, I am very careful before accepting one's on utility boxes. Utility box art, like Stolpersteines, have become the 'go to' for fakers here in Europe.
  • Niantic were sued in the US by a group people following the outbreak of PoGo mania a couple of years ago. The 40m guideline was brought in as part of the compromise settlement. Although it is only legally binding in the US, Niantic implemented it worldwide to avoid similar lawsuits in other countries. As you said, it is…
  • The answers to some of that are kept deliberately mysterious by Niantic. What we do know is that if your rating is 'poor', your review agreements stop counting towards your badges. I think there has been some suggestion that the opinions of high rated reviewers carry more weight than others, but how much more weight, we…
  • It looks like it's on the grounds of a hospital. Many reviewers will reject it because approaching the POI might get in the way of emergency services (ambulances), which is automatic rejection according to the guidelines. To get this through you need to use the Google Street View app to make a photosphere at the location…
  • Niantic have said that these are the ONLY reasons that a portal will be removed: No Pedestrian Access Obstructs or interferes with Emergency Services Private Residential Property School (up to K12; including Day care/Child care services) Permanently removed from the location Duplicate of another Portal For all other cases,…
  • With the history/culture thing, I try to think a bit more broadly. So the football field for example. Football is a big cultural influence. Therefore, a football field is a culturally important place (for some it is a place of worship:) ). Plus it absolutely aces the meeting place/encouraging exercise part of the…
  • Yes, skips are limited to 4-5 (can't remember) every 24 hours. If you review on a computer using a chrome-based browser, you can install the wayfarer+ add on. This has a bunch of advantages, including 'translate' buttons for instant access to a translation of the texts. If you review on your phone, install the Google…
  • I don't think you can. Either use Google translate or the the skip button. I'm guessing you are in Germany so you could try setting your home location to somewhere further away from the borders (although if you are in Germany it would be difficult to move away from one of those countries without moving closer to one of the…
  • OK, this is a totally legit portal. But you are right, Niantic have done a very poor job of defining "private residential property" for those players who have never visited this site (or OPR before it). There is no mention of it being only single family residences in the current "rejection criteria" guidelines. A simple…
  • Are the submissions visible on street view? If not, then it's worth using the Google Street View app to make photospheres at the locations. It will improve your chances massively. And as @LukeAllStars-PGO says, make sure the POI is in the supporting photo. The photo can be from much further away and from a different angle.…
  • Unfortunately the rules are against you in this case. Niantic have said many times that the private residential restriction applies only to single family residences. It does not apply to apartment buildings or gated communities. Portals do not have to be available to all players, all the time. The people who live in the…
  • I usually use my full quota of 'skips' when I'm reviewing. My reasons for skipping are many and various. Quite often it is simply that the POI is so boring that can't be bothered to review it. My rating remains 'excellent'. Using skip doesn't affect your rating.
  • No, that isn't influencing. Just a statement of the guidelines with supporting evidence. There will be a lot of reviewers out there who are unaware of recent changes.
  • Are all those on single family PRP? If they are then they should go. If they are on multi-family PRP (like apartment buildings) then they are fine. Think about it this way: If the wall where this POI is was damaged, who would pay for the repairs? The city or the property owners? Everybody here saying this was removed for…
  • Dendrology as proof of a fake wayspot. I like it.
  • Great! Thanks for all your hard work. Now go enjoy Christmas!
  • I've taken a look and frankly I have no clue why this should have been removed. It is clearly on public land and actually predates the nearest building (Street and satellite views show the painted utility box, while the building next to it was just a hole in the ground). There doesn't seem to be any single family PRP…
  • Ummm... You might want to take another look at my post. The first sentence reads: "If you saw a nomination from, say, France that was in English would you reject that?" I guess I could have structured that sentence a bit better but I certainly didn't say a French nomination from France.
