I always find it amusing when someone finds something interesting, unique or historical and are told to submit the sign. I think, in the spirit of helping, we focus more on “is there a sign?” That we end up making the sign the focal point and not the actual structure or whatever is being nominated

It really depends what it is. Some aspects are considered eligible but with caution. Think of famous gravesites people visit. Also if it is really really old, an important person from a community or Purple Heart/Medal of Honor they “could” be eligible. If it is in something that is not eligible report it as “not eligible”…

I think Niantic thanks you for being considerate for things like this. But I am also sure they have a legal team too. Also they do tell us to be aware or surroundings and not to trespass when logging into the games.
