I wrote a bug about it last December. https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/38785/forum-bug-india-challenge-forum-is-still-open-so-indians-think-it-is-still-good#latest Niantic doesn't answer posts or bugs about this. I think they don't know how to do do administrative functions on the community discussion…

Yes, I have worked on converting systems to AI, and I believe Niantic has been training AI, to at least be a first pass in reviewing (doing the obvious pass or fails, and passing the middle to us crowd-sourced reviewers). AI is trained by feeding it 8 (or more) million inputs with their yes/no results. Input would be the…

Do ONLY kids play there? Is it part of a school? Locations dedicated to minors are supposed to be rejected - unless it's a place where the parents stay with them, like a park. You could be harming your nomination by saying it's only for kids. If it's for kids AND ADULTS, say so.

@HannibalSkye-PGO I got your renewed nomination tonight, for review. I put in my review before I saw this post, but I still believe it is a usually-closed window that might occasionally sell things, and its main attraction is a bathroom. I didn't see how that met any acceptance criteria. And it's on a golf course - which…

It's from a fundraiser. It's not a destination for exploration, exercise, or socialization. Billions of people have lived on this earth, and all the dead ones don't get wayspots - even if they leave behind someone rich enough to donate to a fundraiser. Here's where you can get a plaque on a bench for $10,000:…

People ordered there by the court often arrive in a police car or ambulance. Same for transport to/from a hearing. It sounds like a terrible place to hang out. I'd say it disrupts emergency services.
-
I think that used to be true, but Niantic tweaked the formula a few months ago - and now you see even non-upgrades from far away.
-
Withdrawing is only allowed for nominations still In Queue. Yours got votes before the other one went in... switching to people marking it duplicate. Which probably means it will take longer to average out a decision. I don't know how Niantic resolves the voting switching mid-stream, but I know how they resolve everything…

The "What is it" list came from OSM, Open Street Map. OSM tries to map everything that exists. Niantic does not.
-
In the primary picture, can you move the folding chairs from in front of the waterfall? They take away the focus from the nomination, AND they look like chairs that families buy for their back yards.
-
Maybe the Knight's Hall is on the Lightship database, but not loaded to PoGO. Or, if your pictures have been added to the fake one - you could vote yours up, and submit edits for name and description. Making it real.
-
I love how, if "Beach" is part of the name of the town, the wayfarer bot will add "beach" to the "What is it" list. Like, the nom is a baseball field, or mural. The town is not all beach. lol.
-
Move the pin to where you think the object is. Naintic has a formula to determine whether to take suggestions, or leave it where the nominator put it. If your move is within the "few feet", it'll be ignored. No harm done, either way.
-
Remember to say what acceptance criteria you think your nominations meet. Your supporting info should explain how it's a place to explore, exercise, or socialize. Do they have weekly trivia contests? Do they host networking meetings? https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/criteria/eligibility If you want to log it as a…

The edit-confirmation email says edits ARE available on our Contribution page. They aren't, but emails have said so for over 13 months. If edits ever ARE on our contribution page, theoretically we could withdraw them. But Niantic has not replied to my bug report (made 4 months ago) about this and other email lies. So don't…

Right - neighborhood, apartment, and hotel pools are not valid. Basically, only pools with lifeguards qualify. Pools are VERY litigious in the U.S. and Niantic doesn't want to take chances.(Many of their rejection reasons are for legal reasons.)
-
Yes. Maybe 49 people said "Other Rejection" because it meets no acceptance criteria https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/criteria/eligibility and 1 person clicked "Low Quality Photo" - because it's also not a great photo. It looks like a park (or wherever that plaque is) had a fundraiser, and the DuPlants and Kaplans…

I would not be bothered in the slightest about approving the piano in the music room. I disagree with approving classroom items, like the piano in a music room. Why stop with the piano - there are, by definition, lots of instruments there. It's like nominating the wipeboard in a math classroom, anatomical models in a…

Also really really tough to look up waystops (at home at least), maybe I just new....but how can I review something and verify there is a duplicate? Or at least I haven't figured it out....keeps pushing me to review, but not sure I should be reviewing if I can't see what's already there. @Skulbood-PGO I think you're…

Good to see you're looking around for wayspots. And good suggestions here! To qualify, a wayspot needs to meet at least one of the three criteria: explore, socialize, exercise: https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/criteria/eligibility One way to think of it is: If someone visited from out-of-town, might I take them to see…

If you can find a web site promoting random visitors to the cementery - include that in Supporting Info. I know cemetery tourism is really taking off in the U.S.A, and also parks are including their pathways on trails, and more. Absent obvious tourism, your odds of acceptance really drop. Increase your odds a bit with…

Here are the REAL "5 situations". Nominator didn't realize that the location defaults to where they're standing, and just pressed OK on the location page. It was cold, and the nominator was wearing gloves. They thought they tapped the correct place, but didn't. It was sunny, and glare on the phone made it difficult to put…

Niantic isn't trying to catelog every restaurant that is. It's not competing with yelp or 4Square. For a restaurant to qualify as a waypoint, it needs to be unique - something you'd take an out of town visitor to see, because they've never been to anything like it before.
-
@moiotaku-PGO and @Quinchapeces-PGO Every web site you visit tracks what you do there. How fast you scroll, what you click, etc. Including Niantic. So, interact with the page. Do at least a couple/few of these things on almost every review: Expand the primary picture Scroll the description to read it all Click the title to…

My advice for the Indonesia challenge is to not leave the community group up for years afterward, making Indonesian people think they have a dedicated discussion area, like Niantic is doing to India https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/india-wayfarer-challenge And they do not care…

Niantic is so cruel! Making people think their country has a dedicated forum, when they do not! https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/india-wayfarer-challenge

Some may only be intended for a short time. On the Lightship community, many talk about making apps for weeklong festivals. Permanence is not expected.
-
Right, edits are fine. The Wayspot still has the same internal ID.
-
When Wayfarer first opened for crowd-sourcing, in 2017, they probably also had a streamlined review system for employees. (I've been in IT for decades. This is how it works - Always have a backend pared-down easy method for inside the company only.) So they've evolved separately in 5 years. We don't know how the internal…

Deleting Wayspots also removes them from missions. The mission is ruined, especially if its topic was art-based. Doesn't matter if the object is resubmitted somewhere else.
