English: How does this pet cemetery meet any acceptance criteria: socialize, explore, exercise? Would you take a visitor…
  • @Ganta3Crow9-PGO I think, to get this thru: the primary picture should be the swing, including the part you sit on, from straight on, not crooked. Name it "Swing with a View of <what it is>". Description should say what trail it's on, park it's in, or however you'd get there. Supporting picture should be from the back…
  • It was probably reviewed in another country, by someone who speaks English as a second language (or doesn't speak it at all, and uses Google translate). "Regular" probably means something else in this context, in their native language. For example, many IT companies outsource tasks to India. I also believe appeal-reviewers…
  • The tags are used by outside developers who use the Lightship database. For example, someone might be creating an app to be used for a week at a park's big annual festival. They'd like to pull all wayspots within a certain area, labeled "Park". London has/had one that visits artwork. They'd pull "mural", "statue",…
  • Back when photospheres were possible to make, some people made them along trails where they nominated a marker, then counted the views. Every reviewer probably didn't load the photosphere. Random others might have looked at it (but doubtful if in the middle of nowhere). They usually got 50-70 views as I recall.
  • Niantic has always said volunteer-y things do not qualify, except maybe the national headquarters. In the Salvation Army's case, you have ****, and people with deep needs, seeking help. Give them privacy. It's not a place to call a raid and stand around laughing, playing music, etc - that could scare off someone…
  • @P1dg3ySlayer-PGO For the labyrinths, I think most people don't know that they are interactive and spiritual. They think they're just prints of a black-and-white design of a bad maze. Explain that you start with your finger at the "X" and trace your way into the center. Then take a breath, and trace your finger back to the…
  • It's probably an import from Courts of the World, a couple years ago. I can't read the title, but they typically have the name of the park or whatever place has a basketball goal (not with the word "basketball" or "court").
  • By "university", does that mean ages 16 & 17? Might it be a dormitory, or near one? If you hit refresh, does it give you the third rejection reason, and is it "Other Rejection"?
  • Yes, you can apply however many upgrades you have, in the same day. The ones that are close to each other would go thru "single thread", blocking each other. We're not exactly sure HOW close is TOO close. Several hundred meters? Also, anything near someone else's nomination could have to wait, and go single file.
  • I like the trail markers - even plain footpaths over the fields and through the yon. It's an awesome system that I want to experience when I visit there.
  • Last one on this page: https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/settings
  • I haven't seen any British pubs yet. But I know that some nominators seem to think Lightship should include every restaurant. "It exists" is a Yelp requirement, but Lightship wants more. I'm sure everyone here explains how their nominations are stand-out places to explore, socialize, or exercise.
  • The "Low Quality Photo" is because the angle is wonky. The letters are skewed. It makes some people dizzy. The photo would be more acceptable to more people if it looks more like a professional brochure or ad would show the sign. IOW: To give your nominations a better chance, take your primary pictures head-on, from…
  • A playground is one unit. If the swing is already a Wayspot, mark the sandbox etc as duplicates of it. Niantic says to put the pin at "the point of discovery" on playgrounds and sports fields/courts - so Niantic gamers don't interfere with people using the place for its original purpose. For example, where the sidewalk…
  • It can be in voting for up to 13 months. Niantic queueing is not FIFO (First In, First Out), in an attempt to keep one person or one region from dominating. It's really gone awry, IMO.
  • Thanks for trying to improve the database and make games more fun! Your supporting pictures look pretty good. I like how you back up to show the item in context. Your primary picture should be close enough that we can read the sign. Use "exercise" (and/or explore and/or socialize) in your supporting information. And…
  • Username masking has been in PoGo a couple years now (I think), but not Ingress. This post is months old. I think we have the answer to whether they give a damn. I guess it's not part of Niantic's "Safety Center", https://nianticlabs.com/news/trustandsafety?hl=en which includes: product designers partner with our Trust and…
  • Last time they said anything about it, they showed an example and said that while it was not anchored to the ground (which would have meant it was eligible) - their example had grass worn out around it, showing it was used a lot. So it was eligible too.
  • Agreed. If <some number of> reviewers say it's abuse, it should automatically be routed to Niantic.
  • Those are from September 27 and after. Niantic probably only prioritized nominations from before the event started. Otherwise, there would be no end, ever.
  • I don't consider a 3-4 month wait to mean the "queues are almost gone".
  • Oh - you only got the submitted email? Not the accepted email yet? Allow at least six months after submitting, to see results. That is "working as intended".
  • I apologize for being testy earlier. For some, this has been additional frustration in life - when it could have been additional joy. Thank you for reviewing as much as you can! Your efforts contribute greatly to community rewards, which is much appreciated.
  • Yes it could backfire. No guarantees with any Niantic code - certainly no guarantees with a Niantic bug. You could find yourself having to deal with Niantic Help because when you deleted your Pikman account, your PokemoGo account went away.
  • Why rub people's noses in the fact that they are having a horrible time getting nominations, and getting credit for them - while other people are both getting them and getting credit?
  • I think the absence of words speaks pretty loudly. Big cities have had to wait over a year since 2016, while countryside nominations take days. That's 7 years of angst and drama that Niantic could avoid, but instead embraces. (Running a cleanup program for 14-month-old nominations does not prevent the heartache of pouring…
  • I agree: just ignore it. If you don't do anything on it, you can't do anything wrong on it. Also, who knows how the wind will be blowing five years from now. You might be passionate about getting a great thing in game. Niantic might have turned around and become an amazing company. Give it time. But if you really want to…
  • There have been bugs before, where pictures didn't load to Ingress. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. Apparently there are no internal counters to make sure: <number pictures approved> = <number pictures added to Lightship> = <number pictures uploaded to PokemonGo> = <number pictures added to Ingress>
  • If you're losing 1 or 2 here and there, it's probably the old timing bug. Say Niantic sends a nominaton to ten reviewers simultaneously. The first five are quick and their responses complete the pass/fail threshold. The nomination is marked resolved. When the other five people hit submit - their vote does not matter and…
