Having just one week seems short, imho.

I couldn’t agree more with this post if I tried. I’ve been trying to help out in remote places for years, but we’ve always been hampered by the long bonus and home location locks. For a short, glorious time, both me and others have been able to help out where we have had the greatest impacts on the communities. The first…

If that license plate hadn't been in the pic, I would have ok:d it in five seconds. People are too picky.
-
I rather like that some noms from around the globe suddenly turned up. It isn't that hard to use the function in chrome (Google translate) that translate the text with a right-click. If it is a bug, it is a good one.
-
I wonder if there is trouble for submitters in Nigeria or Niger… Their country names is similar to that other, nasty word.
-
We'd be thankful if you report back if you find any nominations while you are there. We have friends in neighbouring Rwanda (Kigali), which probably covers a small part of Burundi as well, and they say they never get anything from those parts. But it might be different in the capital or southern part of the country.

I've been active in helping out in Africa for quite some while, and the long periods have hampered us greatly. So having a monthly change would benefit us very much. I would also like having a greater ratio between bonus location nominations and the others, plus that the strange "Home" location could be just another bonus…

I had Surabaya as location, and submits from there was very rare, too. I eventually moved back to Africa, as I think I could be of better use there. I don’t care much about rewards, I just want to help out where I’m needed. However, being able to change location more often was great, and I hope to see some continuation of…

Did you review anything while you were there?
-
Interesting. That confirms the numbers I have. Benin has been somewhat more active than Togo during a long time.
-
I really wish that the ratio local/home/bonus submits would have been better. I've spent some days in Indonesia, and the ratio has been maybe 1/50 between the usual playgrounds and trail markers vs. Indonesian submits.
-
Really? I'll contact the submitters I know there and see if they can improve things. In Rwanda, there are at least two expats from Germany who submits most of things. They are very good at it.
-
That would be really helpful! Great idea! There are sadly some areas which have low probability of active submitters, like in wartorn countries such as Mali (Bamako), where we have tried efforts with low success. I guess you can check out the Pokemon Go Africa facebook page, where we have tried to sum everything up. You…

I'm part of a group in Africa who has helped out there for a long while. We know that there are active submitters in: (Country/suggested Bonus location) Sudan - Khartoum Ethiopia - Addis Abeba Mauretania - Nouakchott Gabon - Batanga Cote de Ivorie - Abidjan Ghana - Accra Also in Iraq - two bonus locations; Taq Taq in the…

14,828 as of today.

Reviewers already inside a country can review that whole country (or rather the L6 cells that the countrys border are inside of). For this challenge, maybe they can tweak the bonus location have the same coverage? IMHO, this should be done permanently for all low density nations...I'm trying to help out in Africa right…

It has been a long while since I have seen one of those submissions, even if I try to help out in ultra rural areas, like in africa. My bet is that the absolute major part of them are done, even if there might be some single submits still left out there in limbo areas.

At the time, I also sent in some more nominations on the way to that spot, with the same phone, see below. That view point is the target of the trail up there. As there wasn't anything man-made up there besides the guest book box, I made that that the anchor of the spot. IMHO, it was wrongly rejected from the start. But…

Survey markers are an inherited thing, from the old Ingress/OPR days. They've been sort of grandfathered in, and are mentioned in the Criteria challenge (https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/35560/wayfarer-criteria-challenge#latest). Picnic tables (at least those permanently placed) are also mentioned in…

If you wonder anything about the different areas, just ask, and we’ll try to answer as good as we can. :)
-
Yes, that park is one of the hotspots now. :)
-
Not that I know of. The small effort made there was quite successful.
-
If it was a cluster of stops in Kongo-Kinshasa, they were removed. The number of stops in the country went down from 225 to 155, so I guess they found even more.

Thought I should share some info on how this has gone. Since december 2021, more than 400 new POI has been created in Iraq, in several cities, like in Bagdad, Najaf, Erbil, Sulaymaniyya, Al Hilla, Masraa, Karbala, Dihok and Zakho. There are now over 600 POI in total in Iraq, and new stops seem to popping up also outside of…

For more in-depth descriptions and more about the efforts made in Africa, both older and ongoing, there is now a Facebook group, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/366652355527884. Other areas, like Greenland and Iraq, is also mentioned in there. Much of the same info is also on…

At least the ones out in the sea by Istanbul have been removed. The imports seem to still be around in other areas, just look at any random town or city outside the capital.
-
I always ok them, as they commonly are part of a trail and akin to trail markers.
-
Yes. The lack of feedback has always been appaling. I have even tried to keep track of things I have reviewed and seen if they have gone through or not, for a while in order to get clues of what is good or not. But it is near impossible. This has lead me to mostly reviewing either clear rejections or clear approval, and…

So you play in Benin? Well, we are trying to find new areas to have bonus reviewer efforts at. How is the situation in Benin? Meanwhile, you could visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/366652355527884. The group is a try to gather african players in low density countries, and maybe help them out. There is also info on…

I would like to see something done in sub-saharan africa. Some countries have less stops than an average first world town. The idea mentioned above about free resets of our bonus locales is very good, since there is always a risk of spending your reset on an area where there is noting to review after the backlog has been…
