I see. I haven't seen any difference in my rural nominations, either, though. Maybe the two things are connected.
-
But most of those, particularly the playgrounds, statues/sculptures and sports fields, are definitely eligible. The wall art depends on whether the building is a single-family home, but none of them have "private residence" as a rejection criteria, so there's definitely something weird going on here. I really don't know…

These look like good nominations that should've been accepted. (Except for the fountain, I'm not sure about that.) Unfortunately, valid things being rejected has been an issue for a long time, and that's why many of us are looking forward to the upcoming rejection appeal feature. That being said, the thing that caught my…

Niantic did start reviewing themselves (but they might have stopped last weekend, we're not entirely sure about that). That being said, your screenshot shows that you submitted these nominations only 2 days ago. That is a very, very short time. Be patient, and if your area is "slow", review nominations yourself and upgrade…

I agree, even though OSM tags can be very unreliable, especially in countries where English is not a widely used language. I've seen many locations tagged as "school" which are not schools in the K12 sense: colleges, dormitories, driving schools, skiing schools, language schools etc. But if this OSM-based geoblock would be…

This is highly dependent on the location, though. Here in Middle/Eastern Europe we have tons of local paths and routes maintained by NGOs and local municipalities. They are usually mentioned online and/or are tagged on Google Maps, but not necessarily so. Just because there's no trail map online, it can still exist. But I…

The reviewing guidelines are clear about this (at least): If you strongly agree, choose 5 stars If you are unsure or have no opinion, choose 3 stars If the answer is definitely no, choose 1 star and select a rejection reason The question you're asked is not "Are you enthusiastic about this object?", but rather "Should this…

Yes. Ideally, such a honeypot would be a nomination that is something obviously eligible (place of worship, playground, statue, etc.), is visible on Satellite and/or Street View, the pin would be at a confirmably correct location and both the title and description would be flawless. If you give anything other than 5* to…

You wrote a set of requirements that are in no shape or form included in Niantic's criteria. Also, I strongly suspect that you don't require the "production of famous people" from a football field, a tennis court or a baseball diamond, even though they're eligible under the exact same criteria (excercise and socializing).…

The problem is that even if Niantic issues a very clear update on the related criteria (which is doubtful), they would still be an uphill battle because the mindset of reviewers is extremely hard to change. So even if Niantic pushed a notification tomorrow saying "non-chain gyms, dance and martial arts studios are…

Strongly disagree. A quick Google search told me that this studio does not belong to a chain, it's a single-location business. It is, therefore, locally unique: this is the only Great Lakes Dance Centre. If this is generic, every business in existence is generic. It also, very clearly, fulfills the criteria for being a…

This is horrible advice. OP's nomination is not eligible, plain and simple. It's an old sign for a food shop. Also, having several nominations rejected can actually lead to a ban now, apparently. So to "nominate the same ineligible thing again" can do actually harm.

Thank you.

"Amazing bad luck that you had THREE rejection mails on the same day saying Niantic internal review decision!!!" 2 days ago, I got ten within an hour. For some reason, Niantic decided to review all of my nominations that haven't been decided yet. They also rejected almost all of them, including some I consider definitely…

@NianticGiffard is this the correct place for such appeals or should it be in the Nomination Improvement section?
-
@NianticTintino we'd really appreciate some insight from Niantic here. This situation is extremely worrying for lots of us.
-
This isn't the point though. Even if you argue that these don't meet the criteria (which I disagree with, but that's beside the point), none of these are straight-up coal. Nominating borderline eligible things - and gyms/fitness studios, architecture and memorial plaques are at least borderline eligible - is not abuse and…
-
So your stance is that handing out arbitrary punishments without any transparency for doing something that's not malicious or abusive and without even a hint at what it's for is okay? And that these punishments (which are, again, handed out for something that might not even be the person's fault) should be even more severe…

Just a quick update: I posted my first appeal, it'll appear when it clears picture control. I'll see what happens and if this system works, I'll probably post others as well.
-
Actually, there is. You can select "Use an existing photo" instead of taking a picture on the spot and you can use any photo from your gallery.
-
"The reason they don't say why is so that the cheating doesn't become more serious. This is the case with location falsification. They are different but the same kind." No they're not. Nominating something ineligible (or having something borderline eligible rejected) is not abusive and does not have malicious intent.…
-
I'm honestly baffled (and a bit horrified) by the responses here. Does the majority of people here actually support the lack of transparency? Really nobody has any problem with handing out bans for non-abusive behaviour? I'll try to argue once more, because my points might not have been entirely clear. The point of any…
-
People have no clue what they're reprimanded for because Niantic does not tell them. Period. There is zero transparency here, which is never a good thing. (No, never. Never ever.)
-
Alright. I'll probably appeal those that I think are definitely eligible even without local cultural knowledge.
-
Are there any examples of these appeals actually being looked at and rejections being reversed? I've just had a massive amount of clearly eligible things rejected by Niantic (I made a separate post about it) and I'm debating if it's worth trying to make appeals or I should just go and resubmit them.
-
Not all my nominations were rejected, though. Some of them were accepted, and some of them are still in voting by Niantic. I also haven't received a ban e-mail (yet). I also haven't ever made a description/title edit to give information about a location edit.
-
Yeah. I'm honestly baffled. I'm also a little scared because there have been reports in my community of Wayfarer bans being handed out because of "submitting ineligible nominations", so all these Niantic rejections make me wonder if I'll be banned as well. Also, the remaining nominations being reviewed by Niantic include…

This is all completely beside the point. How you interact with the in-game objects is completely irrelevant. You have to pay to see a play in a theater. You have to pay to visit a museum. You have to pay to see a sports game in a stadium. You also wouldn't play the game during a play, game or while looking at art. (Or sou…

Mert miért lenne az? A pogomap egy közösségi szerkesztésű térkép. Semmi köze a Niantic tényleges adatbázisához.
