As others have said, this guideline has not changed. Without any supporting information and based on this photo alone, I would also reject this nomination as it appears to be on private property and not part of a public space within a complex. It is up to the reviewer to provide sufficient details that the location in…

Hi folks, And with that, the Poland Wayfarer Challenge is over! Thank you so much for your participation and enthusiasm, a full recap is coming soon but I'm happy to share that all Exploreres who have reviewed at least one Polish Wayspot have unlocked the following bonuses: Pokémon GO: Fighting-type Pokémon will appear…

Thanks for the great list of questions, everyone! I'm closing down this thread and opening it for voting through next Wednesday (25 November). As a reminder, we'll be adding the top 15 voted questions to the previously selected top 15 (non-criteria) questions from the other AMA thread.

Good question, when it comes to the little free libraries and similar objects, if it’s on someone’s private residential property, it does not meet criteria. Reviewers should avoid trying to determine whether those locations are public or private based on local laws. If it’s in an area that’s not associated with any private…

Happy to announce that this event has kicked off! Happy reviewing everyone!

Hi folks, This is a great question! Thanks for asking @Mdesign-PGO - As @WandHerring-PGO said, URLs are great to include in the supporting information field only. If you include them in the title or description, this could be grounds for your nomination being rejected as low quality.

Not to let the cat out of the bag, but one of our next big projects is a redesign of the reviewing flow to be more straightforward, very similar to what has been described here. Not only will this cut down on confusion over the 2-4 star range but it will also be more connected to the updated criteria. The reason why these…

Thanks for flagging, I'm looking into this with the Wayfarer team now.

Hi folks, Good question about the abusive/poor quality nominations. The existing anti-abuse measures both in the submission and review flow are unchanged. That being said, if you are participating in the challenge and you notice abusive nominations, please be sure to report them. Reported Wayspots won’t count towards the…

As @WheelTrekker-ING mentioned, changing your login method won't affect anything other than how you would access Wayfarer and the forum. Hope that helps!

Hey there, Good question, if you want to participate in the event but aren't located in/near Poland you CAN update your Bonus location settings to participate. Keep in mind that you can only update this once per year (365 days not calendar year), so proceed with caution. To address the other question about proximity, if…

Thanks for flagging, I've surfaced this with the abuse team and they'll take a look.

Hey folks, I wanted to hop in here with some additional guidance here. When it comes to local businesses, it's true that we have "opened the doors" a bit wider to encourage nominators to submit local hotspots and reviewers to be more open to small communities' local hotspots that may also be a chain. Deciding whether a…
-
As both @BaltiCalling-ING or @TheFarix-PGO mentioned, if they're a national chain or franchise that doesn't have something to serve as a local point of interest, it would be ineligible. An example of this off the top of my head, would be a gaming-focused cafe attached to it or a gaming room (like some comic stores have).…

Hi folks, Good question here, I think to @Gendgi-PGO's point, referencing specific criteria clarifications or AMA answers would not be considered abusive any more than offering another online reference (e.g. a link to an article talking about the location's local impact). However, requests for a specific rating,…

Thanks for highlighting this, I specifically called out that we would not be addressing any criteria questions when kicking off the AMA for this very reason. Additionally, there's a new thread to add questions specifically about this new criteria here.

Hey folks, Thanks for all the great questions! I'll be closing off this thread now to allow folks to vote for their top questions. Also, if you haven't seen, we have a new release that rolled out today, check it out:…

As @Gendgi-PGO said, your Hometown and Bonus location are only part of what determines the nominations you see. Your play activity in Niantic apps can also affect this, so playing for a bit to update your location information should help you see more relevant locations.
-
Hi folks, I checked into @OrIando-ING's situation and it looks like there are two nominations that are stuck in voting without enough votes to compete the review process. I compared these two with other nearby nominations and others in the area getting votes so it’s probably a combination of too may nominations and not…

Thanks for letting me know, the moderators review them periodically throughout the day with the goal of minimizing the amount of time it takes to wait, most often a few hours at max. I will check on the current status of posts waiting for moderation and clear out any that are pending.
-
Thanks for the report, I've escalated this situation to the abuse team and they've reviewed and removed these locations. They're also going to be reviewing the other nominations from the users at fault in this situation to see if they can uncover other possibly abusive locations. Thanks again!

Hi there, Due to legal restrictions, we are required to manually review posts containing certain terms and phrases. If the moderators find that a post in question is in violation of the community guidelines, it will be removed and you will be notified. We would never remove a post without notifying a user unless it is a…

Hi there, Please keep in mind that, depending on the severity of the violation, there are a few different types of punishments that any potential violator could receive. Just because you don't see the action taken against their account doesn't mean that it hasn't been taken. It's also possible that, while you perceive…

Hi folks, As mentioned in this announcement, we are not accepting edit requests via this forum. Since there were still people who were confused by the presence of the category, I archived it. However, just because the category is archived it doesn't mean that the threads should have been deleted. You should still be able…

Hey there, The best place to report an abusive Wayspot is to fill out this form. Since you've already reported it, if you provide some details about the location itself, I can escalate it to the abuse team to take a closer look.
-
Hey there, As @Genenome1-ING@Gendgi-PGO mentioned, we are currently redesigning the showcase page to better reflect what's expected of a high-quality Wayspot rather than selecting a random location in your local area to display. This feature update is on track to roll out this month (hopefully)! As you've correctly called…

Hi there, Sorry to hear that you had difficulty passing the reviewer exam, @AkaganiN0Shanks-PGO. I can assure you that, while Niantic have our headquarters based in the US, the test has been reviewed by multiple non-US residents and adapted based on their feedback to ensure that there was no included bias that would…

Hi there, Based on the screenshots (very helpful, thanks for including @ni0h-ING), it looks like @LukeAllStars-PGO is right. The 'What is it' section is suggesting possible categories for you to select from. This is why the submit button isn't accessible. Thanks!
-
Without seeing the specifics of the nomination in question it's difficult to say for sure, but as long as the playground isn't currently under construction, I don't see any reason why this should be rejected outright.

Hey there, Often this issue is related to a setting within your browser, either a pop-up blocker preventing you from accessing the Facebook login page or a blocker preventing cookies. Can you take a look and see if either of these are the culprit in this case?
