This is the exact point we are making. Not sure where your confusion lies. You used the first hole sign as the anchor for your POI. The disc golf course. The sign is not the POI but the whole course is the POI. Same logic applies here. We have no other context in the OP other then "Are floor maps at shopping centers…

There has been a fair amount of clarification on trail markers recently. The consensus from Niantic is that most signs that indicate a hiking trail are fair game, regardless of how they look. Doesn't matter if its a wooden, plastic, or metal sign. Anything that is specific to a named trail or specific to that installation…

You are using circular reasoning to try and make a point. This has been discussed at length, trail markers make good POI's because they are on a trail. Trails promote exercise and the trail marker is an excellent anchor for the wayspot. Without a trail would a random sign in the middle of the woods make a good POI? Can I…

Just remember @TheFarix-PGO , the internet remembers all. Your own reference to the January 2019 AMA Q&A specifically stating that a PIN for a sports field should not be on the actual sports field. AKA a case "that the pin shouldn't be on the object that is the POI". Hope this information is helpful.

The OP asked if maps, like the example, are eligible. Using the same logic of a trail marker or info board at a trail head, they are eligible because they would make excellent anchor spots for a mall, st!p mall, shopping plaza, etc. Just like trail markers or trail map make a great anchor for the trail. To your point,…

Even the biggest malls will not have that many, but even if I conceded on that point the would likely be on multiple floors and would end up being with the 20 m radius that would make them appear as duplicates or get auto deleted for proximity or not show up in several games for being in the same cell. There are checks and…

Again, intentional misplacement was never advocated for, but you have to realize that there are cases that Niantic wants us to not put the PIN on the POI. Like when it would interfere with real world activities. If you can’t agree to that then you simply don’t understand the criteria and I’d recommend going through the…

I wasn’t advocating for this Wayspot, hard to follow context between multiple posts I know but this comment was strictly about pin placement and clarification on that topic. I would have voted the OPs original post down. But not because of PIN placement.

Yes and it also needs an anchor. Group of stores no, info board yes. It’s fairly a black and white clarification from Giffard. Not sure why folks are struggling so mightly with this. A POI needs an anchor, info boards, info maps, directory, etc. all make excellent anchors. You have to understands what the anchor…

It depends on how familiar you are with the nomination process, especially in PoGo. Are users aware they can zoom in and really pinpoint the object. Do they assume the PIN is already in the right spot because that's where they were standing. I can see a young teenager submitting a spot without knowing that he clicked right…

There's also question in the reviewers test with the following questions which asks you to rate the location of Rontonda Manferga. The options are: 5 stars; marker is on or within a few feet of the object 3 stars; marker is away from the object in map 1 star; Wayspot nomination cannot be found 1 star; Unsure of the…

I'd lean in on that angle then. Maybe mentioned that a local artist rebuilt the well from an existing historic well, and that it was moved to be accessible to all, that it is functional and meant to use by the public and any passerby. I'd agree that the access is not the issue but maybe mention that it does not sit on…

I think you should amend this opinion to " They are not inherently accepted". To be eligible they only need to meet one of the three criteria. Most local restaurants are going to be at minimum a great place to socialize and some may argue, I among them, they are great places to explore. To be accepted you must show that…

I'd sincerely recommend going back and reading the help page in full @Theisman-ING . You seem to have many issues with how things should be reviewed. Here is the link. https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help/reviewing-a-wayspot-nomination Hope you find that helpful.

For my purposes, local gyms, crossfit gyms, boxing gyms, karate studios, mixed martial arts; short of being part of a large chain, are all inherently eligible and make excellent Wayspots if properly submitted. The issue that you will run into is there are folks, that put additional conditions on these types of locations…

Bit of an odd use of the plaques IMO. I will note that we have similar educational placards in walking trails all around us and I've nominated a fair amount of them and they go through nearly 10/10. I have a few thoughts regarding the abuse angle. Hard to tell from the photo but if they were put up temporarily just so…

Be careful with blanket statements like this as they are often very inaccurate. It is a common misnomer that a pin must be exactly on the POI. While that is generally the best place for the PIN it is not a requirement of the nomination. If you read the help page under "Reviewing a Wayspot Nomination" and read the…

This wayspot is still fine. If folks are stopping and parking on a active roadway to play there that is on those individuals.

Without more details no one can say for certain but yes in most cases a museum located within a company building would be considered a valid wayspot assuming that it meets at least one of the acceptance criteria. It should not be rejected for simply n the grounds that it may not be accessible to the public, or available at…

Not sure where you think the disconnect is. Giffard clearly indicated that info boards in shopping plazas, str!p malls, malls are acceptable POI of interest. I''d also infer that he is suggesting that we should submit images, just like this, more regularly. He specifically indicates that POI should be tied to objects. Just…
-
These comments are inaccurate. An information board; in this case a store directory; can 100% be eligible per NianticGiffard. See comment below regarding this topic. They can be places to meet up with friends, or get information about the shopping plaza before you set out on your shopping trip/adventure. Malls are great…
-
Keep in mind that just because some got rejected does not mean it should be rejected. I'm not saying it should have gone through either as you haven't provided any real details regarding the nomination. It does not take many reviewers voting down a submission to get it removed. No one knows how many exactly and it likely…

Not sure how this would be interpreted outside of the states, but if you were standing next to this well it would not be considered on trespassing and clearly this is outside the fenced area. If you were inside the gate, then yes you would be trespassing but if you pulled off the side of the road here you would not be…

but you're only looking at part of the guideline and removing much of the context, essentially creating your own guidance. "Does the nomination stand out from its surroundings? Wayspots that are easy to locate and visually distinct from the buildings and objects nearby make high-quality Wayspots and should be rated…

Luckily Niantic has answered that for us. More reason to make folks review criteria via a test on a fairly regular basis. Visual Uniqueness Does the nomination stand out from its surroundings? Wayspots that are easy to locate and visually distinct from the buildings and objects nearby make high-quality Wayspots and should…

would really depend on the cemetery. We have several cemeteries in town that are more like open air museums. They have Memorial monuments that are intended for group gatherings, memorial services are held on various holidays. All the elementary schools have field trips that walk through the cemeteries and the town…

No..... they do not meet one of them main wayspot criteria and are also generic and mass produced. Auto rejected.
-
@HankWolfman-PGO This is the issue. For some reviewers the ceiling is also the floor. And in Wayfarer minority rules. That is why its fairly easy to get things through like soccer fields, gazebo's and playgrounds. They are universally accepted so as long as its a descent submission they go through. When a small portion of…

Clarification around restaurants coffee shops would be very helpful. The only directive from Niantic is "popular" which is an indefinitive term that leads to a very wide and inconsistent interpretation. I've had an award winning restaurant in my area rejected three times, honestly its probably our most well known…

WOW.... just wow. @Shottix-ING I think this comment answers your question. LOL. Reading comprehension and critical reasoning skills seem to be the issue. A historic home, that is open to the public is not Niantic's definition of single family residential property. Submit again and best of luck.
