you might be right, although I think it might be 4 at 34 POI's. I wasn't to sure on the last two; hence the ?. I am in a suburban/rural area and I don't have any s14 cells that have more then 20 POI's locally so I was relying on some online articles. Never can trust what you read on the internet these days.

Why? If Niantic states that your favorite coffee shop is a valid submission, and I write a local favorite and popular, what about that makes it not acceptable to you? I am doing exactly what Niantic said I should. Your personal rule seems arbitrary. For clarification I have submitted many restaurants and cafe's with far…

I love this idea. Upgrades are precious but can also be perilous on the wrong nomination. It would be great to see how close an submission is to being accepted. If its been slowing making its way through your local voting pool and doing well and you want to give it that last little push you could upgrade to get it…

One stop per s17 cell. Two stops per s14 cell and one becomes a gym. Then its 6, 20, 32, 64? s20 cells determine exraid eligibility. I use INgress Intel Mobile with a PoGo addon. Wile this may work for other games, for PoGo players it can be very frustrating to waste a submission, review time and perhaps an upgrade on…

Additionally, based on the link you provided about the park, it looks like there are a ton of other things that you can submit that would likely be much easier to get approved. Assuming that aren't already stops I would stick with submitting those or the new structures as they get completed.

Quoting a few posters here because I still think folks believe that it takes many many rejection votes to get something rejected out of the system. I do not believe that to be the case based on my experience and as I've mentioned in other posts, there has been some antidotal research by intuitive wayfarers that contradicts…

Critical thinking requires objective unbiased analysis in order to come to an informed judgement or argument. Much like @EvilDoctorSlice-ING did in his post. Thoughtful well written post outlining the argument on both sides and why the need for a clarification. Not sure I agree with all the finer points but in the end a…

Additionally, nothing would ever get rejected. Folks would simply game the system the other way and EVERYTHING would go through. No one wants that. What we need is Niantic to get off the pot and give us a better review process so its harder for folks to flat out reject something and also alter the voting system so…

I think you all are confusing the terms common, with mass produced. Mass produced insinuates that I could run to Home Depot and pick up a footbridge (FYI You can't). But what I can do is go buy some timber and hardware and use a blueprint off the internet of a sturdy footbridge go with my scout troop and go build one. So…

Correct. As my last line indicates (perhaps it was TLDR) review more and more often and ratings will take care of themselves. I am in favor of reviewing to the guidelines and I generally accept more then I reject, and if I am uncertain I tend to middle it with 3's. Which probably does't help my rating in the end but I…

If you tend to accept vs reject everything your rating will take longer to go up for several reasons. Common belief is that it takes many more acceptance reviews for a stop to go through then it does rejections. Some reports, from intuitive wayfarers, estimate that is can take 25-30 yes votes for a stop to go through,…

Clearly a marker for a Wildlife Sanctuary with a trail. Is the trail clearly defined and was that part of you supporting information photo? It may be that you should avoid upgrading it until it has had a chance to make it through your local voting pool and gain a few agreements. Then try to upgrade if you really want it? I…

Which is fine but I think the angst comes from the ban that proceeded because the user was deemed as “trying to influence” the edit. I personally had no issue with the edited position being directly next to the POI. On a side note I think when possible we should try to put Pins in free cells. It keeps duplicates from…

One of many promises. 🙄

It could be a duplex and your fine. Anything on SFRP is a no go at this time. There seems to be some wiggle room if it’s in a more urban area and the POI is located on the street side of a sidewalk versus on the house side of the sidewalk but that’s walking a razor thin line with reviewers. That’s typically seen as city…

100%. A little common sense goes a long way. Like understanding the term “favorite coffee shop” doesn’t mean it needs a Michelin star to become a Wayspot 😂. I’ve rejected a few “footbridges” where it legit looks like a three boards where thrown down in the woods. Most of them however are nearby to trail markers and are…

Trails are great places to exercise and explore. POI need an anchor. These are generally natural markers for hikers/pedestrians to use as they track their progress on a trail. They are man made and in my area these are generally put up by local scout troops. Example: Not really sure where the confusion lies.

I really hope that they allow us to apply these across the submissions we want. This could really have a negative impact to submissions that require a local review pool. Ugh; just read the note from Casey that this wont happen until late 2021. I'm now regretting taking part of this challenge.

kind of missed the point J..... when its convenient folks bring it up, when its not its ignored. Commenting on the consistent inconsistency.

Not saying your wrong here but I do find it ironic that when it suits the argument folks bring up that the old AMA's are overridden by current guidelines but when it doesn't the old AMA's are cited, chapter and verse, from old google doc websites. Not saying you're doing that @TheFarix-PGO, just another example of where if…

I had a footbridge get denied on an upgrade (was shocked and pissed at the time) the wifey submitted same footbridge the same day it got rejected. She upgraded and it went right through the next day. She tweaked the photo a little but really it was the same submission. Resubmit, maybe a little better photo or description…

Pull the flowers back and take a picture of just the route marker. Clear and concise. For supporting picture, make it obvious it is next to a trail and not someone back yard. lol. Also don't refer to the "blue signs" but use the routes actual name. Something like this would work better. Title: Rea Valley Heritage Trail…

I'd give it another shot. The submission picture leaves much to be desired. I think folks are saying it looks temporary because your nomination photo makes it look fairly small. There is nothing to provide scale of the stone. It's clearly permanent to folks with common sense but your photo makes it look small and that you…

Much of the time it comes down to the photo. How does it present itself on its own, without the supporting information. A lot of reviewers read the book by its cover. I tend to review with a forgiving eye and even for me this is a meh. 🤷♂️ Work on a more inviting photo that clearly shows the Bookstore/Coffee Shop name or…

Here's my issue with this line of thinking. When I see an edit 7/10 times I have NO CLUE where the right location is as its usually just a satellite image of the tops of trees. As a reviewer I much prefer a brief write up so I know why the local submitter is asking for the edit. They have the local knowledge. Just like we…

Definitely agree, I am a foodie and I love trying new places. I've found several places, that are fairly local to me, via new stops in PokeGo. Which goes directly to the criteria of great place for exploration. Its one of the reasons I find it so frustrating that we've created this arbitrary standard.

Here's a perfect example of where the reviewing community has gone astray. Perfect timing as I literally got these back to back. The first is a Gazebo, this will go through as an easy 5* submission. Very little went into the submission other then telling us what is it. We all make the assumption that town events happen…

Citing Google and Yelp reviews help a lot if they are good (4.5 stars or better). I try to highlight that on the submissions for restaurants, cafe's and smoothie bars. If you can find some local awards, local chamber of commerce best of, local magazine awards, etc. Sadly those types of submission are hard because unlike a…
