Definitely. That's why I use a dedicated Gmail account for them. Of course, my friends now know that photospheres made under that account are mine, so even that doesn't ensure anonymity. I definitely agree that they shouldn't be required.
-
I usually make them for wooded areas, but I do so knowing that they mean nothing, but that it will increase chances for approval because reviewers like them. One time I submitted two trail markers in the woods that were separated by several hundred feet. I made photospheres for each. I tried to submit them on the spot, but…

While I agree with you overall, signal shouldn't be an issue with photospheres; they don't require an internet connection to even make and can be uploaded later. If I were to do something like that, I'd take a screen shot of Google Maps showing my current location and use that to correctly position the photosphere in the…

Photospheres are great, and I'd estimate I've made them for at least 30-35% of my submissions, but their locations are easily faked and they prove very little just by existing. I consider them to be a more comprehensive supporting photo and when I see one in the woods that is likely to have been made by the submitter I…

Do you have an Ingress account? If so, you might want to make a few actions where you currently are (Italy, I take it). I've read some posts where people say that helps remind the system where you currently are for Wayfarer purposes.
-
How recently did you submit it? While, with one glaring exception, all of my in-queue submissions that were at least a week or so old have gone into voting almost immediately upon receiving an upgrade, fresh submissions often sit for several days despite having been upgraded.
-
I think the bigger problem is that the building isn't really eligible anyway and a better photo wouldn't have made a difference.

Things in cemeteries such as war memorials and historic graves for significant persons are allowed. I somewhat recently had an historical marker in a historic cemetery approved, for example. That said, I'm not sure a "house of mourning" would qualify regardless of the status of things in a cemetery. The photo, while not…

As somebody who plays more Ingress than PoGo, I can say that I actually need density in Ingress much more than I do in Pogo. In fact, I love, love, love finding things to submit in crowded areas and squeezing them in and then later use them for max-fielding But I still don’t want crappy wayspots. Interesting,…

There’s a dreadful mattress store pokestop that recently appeared near me that’s not in Ingress. And somebody recently reported a Fred Meijer grocery store pokestop here (I’ll find the thread later when I’m not on my phone) that I couldn’t find in Mission Creator either. I seem to remember coming across at least one more…

Any idea if that’s in Ingress, too?
-
Yup, as long as you are within the range (which I estimated today is no more than 12.5 km, and maybe less). It’s a real game-changer. I submit through Ingress and could never go back.
-
This is fantastic; thanks! I’d decided that after 34,000+ reviews I’d had enough for a while given the 4-day cooldowns, approved wayspots that aren’t appearing in Ingress (something else that’s surely bugged, given that it seems to happen to everything Niantic reviews itself), and the Foursquare debacle. But now I’ll…
-
Thanks! It appears that submissions that have been manually reviewed by Niantic are among those that aren’t showing up in Ingress, and this is another great piece of evidence.
-
Do you know if it appeared in Ingress?
-
Users were told explicitly by Andrew Krug to use Intel to check for possible duplicates in an AMA. As far as I know, that guidance has never been superseded officially. Which makes the use of Intel for planning submissions our de facto guidance and any changes to that should in fact be communicated widely.

Although re-reading the post, I kind of understand why you included all of those details about the park as an attempt to head off the "emergency vehicle" silliness.
-
Agreed completely with @CipherBlakk-PGO . This is probably a good PoI as an historic building, so stress that and as many details about its history in the title and description and omit the irrelevant references to the park. A photo that really accentuates the Art Deco aspects would help. I probably would have approved…

Definitely try the mural! If you want to try the store again, I'd go into much more detail about what kinds of "things" they sell, how long they've been there, what makes it locally special, if they have events for the community, etc., etc.

Thanks so much for replying! I think this cooldown is seriously bugged. For example, I've gotten two 3.5-4 day cooldowns in the past few months. In each case, I hadn't been doing much reviewing in the previous week or weeks and got the cooldown after no more than 40-60 reviews over a few hours in one case, and many fewer…

3.5 to 4 days. You might well have not reviewed even a fraction of what's in your areas; this can be extremely bugged or just randomly punitive.
-
Wonderful — thanks so much for checking and replying!
-
Thanks so much for the detailed post! Also, a huge bug that you haven't mentioned is the lack of ability to withdraw in-voting candidates. This is very important for preventing the queue from being clogged even more. I've had to do it several times for reasons very legitimate reasons, such as: The same thing having been…
-
Have you talked to the PoGo and Ingress teams about changing the language on the submission screens, away from specifically nominating "Pokestops" or "Portals"? Until that happens, submitters will be confused and the problem will remain.
-
It's also quite possible that this is one of the submissions that has fallen afoul of the bug (hopefully!) where some accepted submissions simply aren't appearing in Ingress. @WayfarerMSE-PGO Do you know if it appeared in PoGo (if there's been enough time)?
-
As others have said, there's been an ongoing issue where some approved wayspots are showing up in PoGo and not Ingress. This hadn't happened to me so far, and it appears that in most cases they are currently appearing in Ingress. (I only know of one local example of this happening and it's such an awful wayspot that I…

What do you see as improved here? I can’t think of anything that that isn’t either status quo or a step back. Two non-quality-of-life changes that are huge negatives for their product and have no work-arounds are (a) the inability to withdraw in-voting submissions (which clogs the queue and in slow areas will prevent some…
-
I'm sure this has always been this way. Once it's "In Voting" you can't touch it. I had a POI identical to mine approved at least a month before the updates to Wayfarer, and was unable to withdraw mine since it went into voting as soon as the other one was approved. This was only true for upgraded submissions. I've…

I have exactly the same situation. I had something that had been languishing in the queue since the winter that had that random free upgrade applied to it in June prior to the Russia upgrades being issued. It not only hasn't been processed, but it's still in the queue. Like you, all of my subsequent upgrades have been…

The great majority of the edits I see are from places I've never been and have no specific local knowledge about. Once in a while I see something I'm able to ask a friend who's actually local about, but most of the time, an edit from the other side of the United States would be just as easy (or hard) for me to process than…
