  • Hi @NianticAaron, could you initiatie a DM with me as well? Thanks. (My apologies for bumping up an old thread. I figured this better than starting a new one.)
  • Do you have any data (from a survey or so) which supports your claim? In my local community (~2500 active players/Wayfinders) it is the complete opposite. By the way, most of them stopped submitting and/or reviewing Wayspots.
  • @Elijustrying-ING I was in the process of writing a reply with similar points as @Nadiwereb-PGO. -- When submitting a Wayspot through the games (e.g. Pokemon Go, Ingress),, there was not a single notion of potential ongoing abuse (and such notion still does not exist) within the submit process. Such a message would have…
  • Based on this: Wayfinders may not have been aware of what's happening (as discussed in this thread). These Wayfinders can, in this sense, be considered "innocent" until proven otherwise. Regarding the Wayspots discussed in this thread, five categories: Poor submissions: they clearly do not meet any of the eligibility…
  • Please see my comment above. These types of signs ARE trail markers, and officially documented ones at that. As such, these signs are eligible Wayspots. We as reviewers should adhere to guidelines as specified by Niantic; our personal opinions are less important. (Yes, this can be quite a challenge... 😅)
  • Regarding your example: these trail markers are eligible Wayspots, so you can vote positively for these. However, this particular photo has a watermark on it (bottom right corner), which is not acceptible. Please note that you are not the only one struggling with the reviewing process, especially the past few weeks.
  • Trail markers, and especially those which are permanently placed, are definitely eligible Wayspot candidates, as has been discussed multiple times in this forum. We, Wayfinders, are supposed to test submitted candidates to Niantics criteria. Personal opinions do not matter. Of course, this can be quite a challenge, and not…
  • @PurDee-ING Thank you for reporting the generic street name signs. Note that (permanent) trail markers are eligible Wayspots. Please do not report these. Two examples from your post above: https://intel.ingress.com/?pll=52.493162,4.947315 / https://intel.ingress.com/?pll=52.493938,4.945231
  • Any more tips for this issue would be highly appreciated. Similarly, a Route was submitted and approved the same day. The Route title has a spelling error, which I cannot correct. I'm assuming that whoever approved the Route should also be able to modify it and/or its title/description. Is this assumption correct, and if…

  • Seemed familiar to something I read before on this forum. Found it: see the thread below: Fake Series of a Moving LFL in Northern Sydney and other random junk — Wayfarer (nianticlabs.com)

  • I've succesfully submitted a few Routes. However, I would like to remove two of them, because they cannot be completed without walking through a wall. This is due to GPS issues that occured while recording the Route. I have recorded two Routes which cannot be completed. I have reported these via the in-app support,…
  • Just another data point: out of the 84 reports, 17 were deleted and 8 of those are back online again. Hopefully some more info can be provided regarding what actions taken and time scale for resolving these issues.
  • Please do not separate Wayfarers based on the last 3 letters displayed on their username on this forum. Wayfarer aims to populate the Lightship database with interesting spots to visit, exercise and/or socialize (see full list of criteria here https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/criteria/eligibility). ___ Thank you for…
  • Clearly these types of Waypoints incentivise exploration and often include a certain type of sports. As such, they are eligible Wayspots.
  • The "bike route signs" as you call them are actually (bike/hike) trail markers. Sometimes there are a lot of trails closeby (mostly in urban areas), sometimes such markers are key navigational insturments for explorers (especially in rural areas). In theory, the markers map out a full route (either cycling or walking)…
  • I have reported two of these AEDs before, in this topic. They were removed. And now they reappear. Please hurry with removing these @NianticAaron !
  • Thank you for confirmation regarding mosaic tiles. For the others I think it is key to just remove them ASAP. I've seen a few similar POIs pop up outside the "hotspots", players claiming "apparently these are eligible".
  • @pieniechan-PGO (and others who reported Wayspots in here) I agree that most (if not all) of the reported Wayspots above are ineligible candidates. I would like to emphasize that some caution regarding the label 'abuse' is in order. Genuine questions regarding post above: How do you know that each of the mosaic tiles…
  • Given the way these Wayspots are named (uniformly, and mostly without spelling errors), I think that the submitted at least took their time to "properly" fill in the info for each nomination. This might be a case where the submitter thought that these items would be eligible Wayspots, simply because there are so many of…
  • Update: All 7 Wayspots have finally been removed. In total, this took a baffling 73 reports (by multiple players) spread out over a period of 32 days. x
  • Were these Wayspots already reported through Support? If not, please do so.
  • I do not have all details, nor do I wish to share all. The players in question were most likely not aware of what the Wayspots actually are. Ofcourse they moved out of the way quickly when needed. My point is twofold: The Wayspots in question should have never been here in the first place, such that said situation would…
  • Just to add to this, a recent example from my side. I found and reported 7 (!) Wayspots which were literally Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) or similar first aid devices mounted to the side wall of a private property. Initial reports via Wayfarer Support were all rejected Initial reports via Ingress were all…
  • What do you think about these? 1. elevator at the station laan van NOI - https://intel.ingress.com/?pll=52.078982,4.343535 (note: the actual train station is also a Wayspot: Treinstation Laan van NOI - https://intel.ingress.com/?pll=52.079214,4.342903) 2. Hidden Horsetngjjtfhhfdthgdbjcfgf -…
  • It seems the Wayspot has been removed. Thanks to @NianticRN and/or other Wayfarers, whoever you are.
  • " Removing the 3-colour system would be good. It seems to cause more problems that it solves. " This is only good if the system beneath (which determines how much the vote of an individual review counts, linked to reviewer rating) is removed as well. Or, you know, just put the stats out in the open, let reviewer view…
  • In my experience (and dozens of others in the local community), taking the reset test is useless for the long term. Sure, it resets your reviewer rating to Yellow, but afer about 10 reviews you are back to Red again. No matter how long you stop reviewing (and wait for the initial 10 reviews to get processed by other…
  • Do you have an Ingress account? From what I hear in my local community, mainly Ingress players are affected (and some PoGo players as well). This might have something to do with the double points for the OPR (Recon) badge in Ingress.
  • I would just like ANY form of update or statement from @NianticCasey-ING (or someone else in the Wayfarer team). All around me I see other Agents distancing themselves from using the Wayfarer system. I am sure that this is not the goal for Niantic. Again, please provide an update.
