It's not stealing if the same person is writing it. I write the exact same thing for a lot of my submissions. There's only so many ways to describe a neighborhood tennis court, playground, or clubhouse. I submitted 27 things this weekend, including : 8 sets of tennis courts (in 8 different neighborhoods), 4 playgrounds,…

I understand what they were looking at. I was trying to explain to them that those statements are not the "official criteria." Those are the general concept.
-
We wouldn't know if anything came in through official channels. It would go right to Niantic and Wayfinders would only see the results. But the fact that all sponsored Starbucks POI in PGO, tells me that Niantic does not have a rule against using the same title for all wayspots of a similar kind.
-
I would assume that anything official coming from the church would go through Niantic, not the edit process. It is unknown what mechanism one or more individuals are using to accomplish this.

It looks like there are a lot of fishing holes in that river. If there are any public docks or platforms for fishing, or any signs about conservation of the local waters, go find those. The main thing is that it needs to be public land, not someone's private property. Otherwise, in terms of eligible spots for POI, your…

This is on Hwy 316, by Evergreen Cemetery. Street view is from 2009, so this may not still be around. But if this cultural center, playground and tennis court are still there, these should be good. These pins shifted. I swear I put them on the item.

Are those the actual photos you used? Because I see the both of those on Google. If you pulled them from Google, then they're Third Party Photos and that's not allowed. You need to take your own photos. Try something like Title: Smokey Hollow General Description: Locally owned restaurant and general store. Products sold…

Nothing that I wrote was snarky. You kept mentioning "tells you something about your local community" as a criterion. But that's not one of the main criterion. The criteria are what I listed. When people post here, we have no way of knowing what they do and don't know about Wayfarer. Many have just heard bits and pieces…

It could just as easily be argued that you're in favor of supremacist groups getting to describe Civil Rights monuments because they represent the majority in their area in stead of letting the marginalized people use their own voice to describe themselves.
-
I'm sorry, I don't understand your comment.
-
It's not, though. You're admitting to disliking groups of people based on them exercising their religious freedom. These are people who have dealt with a long history of oppression and hate, even up to de-ath in order to defend those rights. It's not funny, it's not silly, it's not an overreaction to take this seriously.…
-
So here's the heart of the issue. You dislike freedom of religion. I would encourage you to research how much freedom groups like this have won for others (even those they disagree with) by defending their own right to exist. I would also encourage you to educate yourself on the oppression they have faced all over the…

The criteria are, a great place to: - be social - exercise - explore You have not convinced us, the experienced Wayfinders, that this sign meets any of those criteria. If you want to let people know about the volunteer organization, then nominate their headquarters. A random sign with the name of the organization on it,…

Again, I don't see anything wrong with the member of a church writing a description that explains their faith. I see no humor in this situation. I think people have the right to determine how they are represented and I find it borderline offensive that anyone (not you) would argue that they don't have that right.
-
There's another solution for that.
-
No, I don't find the bullying of, or making fun of, religious people to be funny. Not in the slightest. I don't know what those route rules have to do with this conversation. We are talking about descriptions on POI, not on routes. Routes and Wayfarer do not share the same rules, and shouldn't since many people who are…
-
To be honest, your reaction to this makes me want to report you. I am really disappointed by the anti-religion talk I've observed in this thread. That description is not "advertising." It is a description of their faith. It is a completely appropriate description.

I would accept a rock formation on a trail that serves as a significant marker. Does it show up on a trail map? Does it have a local name or story that goes along with it? Is there lore around the rock? If any of these things are true, there is more than likely going to be mention of it somewhere on the internet that can…

We are trying something - not sure it will work, but we are attempting to address translation issues. And when I say "we", I mean that the ambos are serving as advisors on this. We can't make any real implementation changes. If we can find solutions that are easy to implement, we recommend those and how they can bring…

We've been playing around in a test environment for a few days on the new forum platform. It is different, but you'll get the hang of it. My biggest advice is to engage with the automated onboarding. It will walk you through some pretty basic things that are not terribly obvious but that really help you get oriented to the…

I think you have lofty ideas for how communication wholistically should work between Niantic and the community. Let me bring you back down to earth by asking if you think Vanilla (the host of these forums) was the reason Niantic doesn't have good communication? Because that's primarily what is changing. We are going from…

A wider picture of a rock is still a picture of a rock. Rocks typically aren't eligible.
-
What kinds of changes would you like to see as "improvements?" I'm not making any promises those can happen, but I'm curious what you want.
-
Parking spaces are private property. They can absolutely ask you to leave and involve the police to trespass you off the property if you refuse to comply. But why let it proceed to that? There's a first time for everything. But now that these raiders know the property owner is concerned about their parking spaces being…

Yes, I find often find that waving, and saying something like, "I just stopped to use my phone, I'll be gone in a second" helps assuage people's suspicions. I mean, they don't want you to use your phone while driving - so that means having to pull over at safe places to attend to things, right? As long as you don't have…

I see nothing wrong with that title and description. I don't think it is an absolute rule that every wayspot title must be unique. I understand that we want them to be unique and we are told that it's best practice for them to be unique. But if you look at Niantic's own practice with sponsored POI (I'm only familiar with…

LDS is the right acronym. They mostly don't like the word Mormon. LDS stands for Later Day Saints, which is how they refer to themselves.

Again, this is not a Wayfarer issue. This is a Pokemon GO issue.

This is not a Wayfarer issue. This is a game decision by PoKemon GO. No one here can make this change.
