I don't think I'd bother with this one. The document doesn't say that it's now a police training facility. So you'd have to supply 2 sources but reviewers aren't going to click on both. Plus, as a reviewer. I'd hesitate to accept a police training facility. I have no idea what that entails. Are they running drills to know…

Anyone who needs to step away from Wayfarer to take a break is encouraged to do so. Yes, the process works better when more people are engaged. However, no one should be involved with a system or a company that they think is causing them harm, lying to, or laughing at them. Before I became an Ambassador, my favorite phrase…

I work in process improvement, so I promise you that I'm trying to keep the focus on fixing the whole system, while using real examples to illustrate the impact of the problems. Annnnnnnd now you've got me itching to do a fishbone diagram on this whole mess.

What I'd suggest is to realize that you're not in our position so you don't know what has pushed any of us to the point of saying what we have. I'd also ask you to recall that everyone here is communicating in English, but not everyone has English as their first language. People come from a variety of cultures, even if…

Dear Niantic, I would like to respectfully suggest that your internal reviewers go through the onboarding process. When they do, they will see this message: When there is "gray area," no one should get a warning of any kind of punishment. Gray area in this case: submission is for a logo, not the actual restaurant the…

What does that even mean? You accused the ambos of being Niantic representatives. We are NOT Niantic representatives. We are not paid by them. We do not have to agree with every decision they make. The only thing we *have* to do is not reveal any information they have shared with us in confidence. Discussing how we think…

HA! I always press the twitter icon and use the link that generates!

Map could be a lot more useful if they brought all the location labels through. When streetview is out of date, sometimes Google will have the place labeled correctly as whatever they've nominated. That goes a long way to me verifying the location. As it is, I have to open Google separately to see those labels.

Actually, the settlement I'm reading says exactly that. This particular settlement was only good for 3 years. So we are technically no longer under this (in the US). But the standard was set here that we need to show proper respect and care for POI on or within 40 meters of single family residential property.
-
Do you have to scroll down and then back up? What happens if you read across and then down? Title, map, photo - A large portion of the reviews I do give me enough information from reading in that order to figure out the answers to the 7 questions we are presented with. I only need to check the supplemental if the answers…

Nothing about what you describe is how nominating in Pokemon GO works. What app are you using?

We recently noticed a quick denial that felt automated (no proof of that). Between the two people who know they both submitted title edits for the POI in question, they believe their edits were identical, or nearly so. IF (and that's a big if) Niantic has applied some kind of automated system to edits to look for identical…

We actually have one of those coming up. As for psot boxes, I stay out of those conversations because I don't have any local knowledge. From afar, I don't see why any of them are eligible, TBH. The old ones don't really seem *that* interesting to me.

This is the whole point. There's the letter of the law (too variable and impossible to know in each case) and there's the spirit of the law. The spirit of the law is to be respectful to the owners of single family homes. Don't create situations that might entice people to congregate in front of their houses at all times of…

Understood. For some reason I've been able to separate the issue of the nominations being reset from the new review flow. The first is the thing that frustrates me. The second is something I just had to accept. I was recently talking about withdrawing and renominating all my old stuff in case that ends up being the best…

I actually see myself as representing the Wayfinder community TO Niantic more than representing Niantic to the community.
-
Hey look. We had this exact same conversation SIX MONTHS AGO. What was the outcome? NOTHING. There is no way to get consensus on this issue. https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/41070/is-the-margin-between-sidewalk-and-street-private-property

Despite what some are trying to tell you, there is no one answer for all of the US. There is no way to have an answer to this question that covers the entire planet.
-
The more I read about people struggling with this, I have been asking myself why. Why is this so difficult for people to adopt? Here's what I've come up with. Those who have been involved with this process for a long time feel a sense of ownership over the map. They understood the prior system. They knew what would happen…

I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed. This is not what I was expecting when we encouraged Jamal to participate in the forum. I don't see what good this can do. Jamal knows full well niantic's official guidance on this matter. There is no way to get one global standard for this that will make everyone happy. So I see this…

Please go describe your feelings to the team responsible: https://community.ingress.com/en/

Yeah, I wish this was better. I assume it has to do with reducing the number of calls made to Google. I have no idea if they pay for access to Google Maps or if it's free.
-
Why do you insist on pushing the narrative that Niantic employees only use phones for business? Do you realize how insane that sounds? Trust me, it absolutely *was* tested on desktop. The fact that you don't like it doesn't mean that it is horribly designed. You represent one viewpoint. Your viewpoint is valid, but it is…

You do what you want but I would absolutely reject that for low quality title. Despite what at least one Ambassador might say, that is not a title. That's two sentences.
-
No one can answer that except Niantic and you know well not to hold your breath waiting on such a specific answer.
-
I sometimes find myself doing the same but it's usually when it's obvious that the item is accurately described and located and meets one of the main criteria. If I can prove all that to myself by viewing the map, title, desc, and main photo, I don't feel bad about missing the supporting info.
-
I personally would reject those for pedestrian access. A sand trap is an athletic field. It's not safe to have people who aren't playing golf wandering around on the course. I've seen many courses that won't let even golfers walk, they have to be in carts.
-
For my personal opinion (not any official stance), I think pools are great places to socialize and exercise. Based on the questions being presented to me on the review flow, I would mark a pool that way. (Not if it was in someone's yard, obviously.) Each person has to make up their own mind about how they will review each…

You control that under settings.

Are you saying that you had 9 things upgraded without a decision when the system changed?
