Who do the naysayers think do the AMAs? They are done by Niantic employees.
-
When that happens, you most likely placed the stops in the corners of cells so you got "close" ones to show up because they were across the imaginary borders from each other.
-
First of all, there was no rule stating that people had to be qualified Wayfinders in order to vote. So allowing games players to vote broke no rules. If you don't think that's how it should be done in the future, that is your right. And you are welcome to express that. But to complain that the very people these challenges…

This is a joke, right? Someone who submitted a tilted photo of an ineligible store is complaining about a rejection reason?
-
There are times when I talk about why I've put the pin where I did - but the reasoning never talks about cells. People like to get involved with pin placement sometimes and move the pin to where they think makes sense but from what I've seen the final location takes a compromise of all the suggested pin moves and uses…

This is the attitude of most players I know as well. Yet I do this work despite knowing that. I know that I'm doing work that would go much faster if more people cared. That's the whole reason we have to do challenges to begin with - there's a backlog in places. None of that changes if those people suddenly know about the…

@Loseless11-PGO Thanks for this insight. I think when we have an announced date for the challenge, a thread where you (and others) can explain cultural issues to us would be very helpful. Tell us what to look for that is unusual in other countries and what bad behavior you see from submitters that we may need help…

Lord have mercy. As of 00:59 our Ambassador channels all switched over to Spanish! Thank goodness Taiwan didn't win, I would be totally lost...

Is getting POI not the entire point of Wayfarer? Why should people who will benefit from that not be interested and excited about it? We do this to *benefit the community* so it makes no sense to me that we want *the community* to not be involved.
-
I agree that I would not reject for people, but you're always going to run across wayfinders who reject any slight view of a person. However, none of that is relevant because Niantic reviewed this directly. Since they don't provide reasons for their rejections, I would assume that they thought this doesn't meet any…

I don't disagree with this. There is no incentive for people to review if they don't need new portals/pokestops. I'm curious what you would suggest as a good incentive. If you were in charge of completely revamping the reward system, what would you do? Think about rewards for regular reviewing and increased rewards for…

I don't understand the gatekeeping. 1) We want to reduce backlogs. 2) In order to reduce backlogs, we need more people to review. 3) We need more people to be educated on how to review properly. All of that adds up to needing to ADD people to these forums so that they know what they are doing when it comes time for them to…

Unfortunately, I think the wayfarer community will never agree 100% on these type of markers. I get why you think they are a good POI when you describe it in this message. But we don't get that much room to provide an explanation in each nomination (and reviewers won't read that much anyway). I think I would be more likely…

To continue on with what others have said about this being eligible (because proving the location means nothing if people don't think it meets the criteria), are the other buildings in this area the same age? If so, you'll have a hard time proving that this is something interesting to explore. If they are newer, then try…

A quick Google search tells me that there is a street in Cypress named Nikolaou Katounta. I believe this is a simple street sign, which means it doesn't meet any criteria. The parking lot does not meet any criteria either. As a reminder, a POI needs to be a great place to explore, exercise, or be social while also not…

Just to clarify, a great place to exercise does not have to be visually unique.

whoops, this additional comment was posted in error...

This is the situation WITH EVERY CHALLENGE. It's not a novel concept that there are players in the challenge country who just don't want to bother with Wayfarer. Places like Spain and Italy (and maybe Taiwan?) have the added burden of being places people like to travel. It's entirely possible that tourists add to the…

@TheFarix-PGO understood the question I asked and gave an answer I don't agree with but is honest to how they feel. @tp235-ING did not understand my question and decided to treat me like I don't understand multiaccounting in wayfarer. First, none of us have any proof that multiaccounting has happened with the voting here.…

Please prove how the recent spam threads are having a negative impact on Wayfarer. Have people on this forum reacted negatively? Yes. But there is no proof that Wayfarer has been negatively impacted.

Please post screenshots of everything associated with your submissions so we can help you. I suspect you referred to Pokémon in the description, which would make the description ineligible.

What you have to consider is that people move. So let's say someone did all that work it 2018. Then they moved in 2020. Did the new homeowner agree to have a bunch of nerds stand in front of their house chatting and laughing about something they can't see? I live in a multi-family community. I have 2 PGO gyms close to my…

You have stumbled into a category that has no clear cut answer. And to discuss it again will only start mire arguments. Some reviewers will reject any chain business. Others think that the fact that it's a place to exercise overrides the "no chains" rule. There is no clarity. Since you can't force people to review the way…

You may be right but in terms of increasing awareness of Wayfarer, this has been the most successful thing any of us (Niantic, Amabassadors, or Wayfarer devotees) has ever done.

I would just say "be patient." Spam today may turn out to be engagement later when someone has questions and remembers that "there was some place I went a few months ago to vote about all this Pokestop stuff." And that leads them back here to engage more meaningfully. I think all this spam will die down once the winner has…

@Elijustrying-ING Here are examples from some of my accepted POI. Here's a supplemental I wrote for a t-ball field in a public park recently. There were people in the second photo. I was over an hour away from home and would not be back in this area to submit stops so I couldn't hang around to wait for the field to be…
-
While these things are annoying, they shouldn't be a reason to reject a nomination. Someone can tell me "please accept this or my child will die" but I'm still going to use the power of my own brain to evaluate the merits of the object/place. I'm not going to vote the way they tell me to unless I agree with their…

@HankWolfman-PGO I don't think we know what the result of this will be. I suspect we will see some uptick in active Wayfarers from these communities. Most likely, we will see the most influx from the winning location, but I bet some will become active from the other locations out of curiosity and "prepping" for the next…

These locations were selected by Niantic. They used some criteria to determine which places could qualify for a challenge and decided to allow the people involved in the Challenge to get a voice. I do not understand why everyone is so heated about the voting. Any of these 3 places would be fine for a Challenge. I…
