I have a few nominations on hold, and recently submitted a new candidate that I wished to expedite. I didn't have any available upgrades, and I had already toggled Auto-upgrade to OFF, so I reviewed a bit hoping to earn a new upgrade to apply. I got to 98% but then, since it was late, I toggled Auto-upgrade to ON and went…

If you have an available upgrade, and haven't changed the toggle switch in Settings to turn off automatic upgrades, then your "Available" upgrade has likely already been applied to your oldest unresolved nomination. If you have changed that toggle prior to earning that upgrade, you'll still see the Upgrade Next text on…
-
That shouldn't be necessary - just go into your Settings on the Wayfarer page (same place you choose Home and Bonus locations), and toggle "Automatically Apply Upgrades" to "Off".

Well, the same can be said of sidewalks, crosswalks, plain bus stops, taxi stands, or major highways. The criteria these days are so very vague that anything can be made to fit if you phrase it right, but still....I approve most footbridges on named trails, preferably with a support structure (so not those planks or…

Or before that, the Foursquare imports that added gas stations and hotels offshore in ocean waters, and houses of ill repute inland. It does boggle the mind.

I was really hoping for a clear course of action on these, as my local Disc Golf Course not only has many tees in game but has also served as a model for other courses where people are now nominating. Unfortunately, @NianticGiffard 's reply has simply underscored the fact that Niantic is unconcerned with wayspot quality…

500 AP multiplied hundreds of times over will add up to a substantial amount. There are several people in my area that do submit edits for AP, even if the gains are not large. Many of these people are high-level, experienced agents.

I agree with all the points in this thread so far (well, mostly) that show quite a few reasons why some additional photos are a good thing - especially with the point about camera quality, as 2016 photos may have been quite excellent at the time but look terrible by today's standards. I do wish that the original photo for…

The bottom line for me is: this would be difficult to implement as an add-on feature, and would provide little Return on Investment. A portion of game players would be very happy, but a (probably quite vocal) segment would have no idea what was happening and why, especially given Niantic's shortcomings in communication.…

I see that Wayspot at 55.8546,-4.229401 - does the area look familiar?

I didn't even THINK about Missions. That's a total deal-breaker for me, as I'm ages away from getting that Second Sunday badge Onyx. People put a ton of work into creating those missions and into Bannergress functionality. I guess the counter to that would be that you could get more Gold Gyms as you’d eventually be able to…

I wouldn't like it because I think it would start a new rush of Pokemon Go gold-hunting every few months, with in-person interactions growing extremely fractious. Right now we only see that friction when a new gym is spawned and everyone (and their alts) wants in. In Ingress, the impact on gameplay would be more profound:…

I disagreed because - around here we see quite a few trivial edits. Titles are edited to change from Proper Case to Title Case, or Title Case to Proper Case, or titles are "fixed" to include a word that describes the object a smidgen better - personally, I think that Titles are Titles, and that the name of an artwork…

If there are a large amount of people that elect to review strictly local candidates, then the voting cabals could easily hold sway again, even with the excellent improvements above implemented. If majority voting is from outside the area, but the local reviewers collude to reject, it will take far fewer worldwide reject…

I see 14 Waypoints (at least on the Ingress side) with this personal name in the Hague area - and that's only ones that have been approved and are live in game. It puzzles me why Niantic has taken no action!
-
Has your friend downloaded the Google Street View app and practiced sending Photospheres? Once published to Google, these 360-degree photos can help reviewers verify position of a waypoint, match up background details, and in general give an enhanced sense of confidence. Some people have faked or manipulated Photospheres,…

Wow - "reach out to the correct team when redirected"? Do as I say, not as previously instructed? I think I'll stick with Forum request, tyvm - at least then the cause of my frustration would be visible to all, and misery does love company.
-
Did we ever get any official clarification besides "talk to support"?
-
There are many people out there who've gotten warnings for "influencing reviewers" based on supporting statements, which shows that supporting text can be a valid rejection reason in cases of perceived abuse.
-
As far as @Raachermannl-ING's comment above - if you meant just a single person by your comment, then what is the meaning of your "since he is an -ING only player" phrase? That reads, to me, like you are including the original subject in a group behaving in an established pattern. If you meant otherwise, then the meaning…

Solo rejector guideline: could be evrything. The guy from the initial post .... since he is an ING-only-player I guess he hates anchors, that are not accessible by car, and so he constructs stupid reasoning-chains to reject fully valid candidates. Dunno. Wait. What? Most Ingress players I know love anchors that are not…

Niantic should definitely use the photo with the most upvotes as the representative photo for the POI, but I disagree that photos should be removed for "ugliness" as a workaround for the technical glitches that seem to be preventing these democratic choices. Removing those photos from the original submission can rob the…

Submitting Photos of the Van is definitely an Ingress "thing" - and the van was in Florida this Community Day/Mission Day, I believe. I wasn't aware that photo submissions for our beloved NL-1331 went through the general approvals process, but you're pretty safe accepting 'em all anyway especially if they involve any sort…
-
I do love to see nice photos on Pokestop and Portal images, but those dated photos might have deep meaning for the original submitter or the community that's been interacting with those POIs for the past eight years. We have some images on Wayspots that were submitted by deceased agents, or that represent some sort of…

Next time, the Northeast! :D

No worries there, they never listen to my suggestions anyway (or else we'd have a total gym rework, a return to EX Raids, and an end to Delibird outside of season) so the risk is very low. 😁

Pokemon Go Level 35 and Ingress Level 8 would make much more sense to me as far as forum access - they're both fairly close to submission level, as well as closer to the in-game levels where Medals matter, but those levels do take a bit of work to achieve.
