Wow, this dog-shaped lamp is really unique!

I can't see if that text is really an explanation from an "admin"... seems a bit too long. I do often see "this is eligible by Niantic's rules!!!" in supporting information for nominations that are clearly not eligible. I usually just reject those but I do think it's considered an attempt to influence reviewers (by lying,…

Oh I agree - but on the other hand, in my case, there IS a word in the local language for shade-providing structures. Even "pergola" is a word that's quite common here (even though it's in English). But people go with "gazebo" because it already became a magic Wayfarer word.
-
Oh JESUS, I have the gazebo thing in my country too! EVERYTHING is a gazebo. Benches such as this one are commonly called gazebos. Shade structures such as this are also named gazebos in nominations: It's 100 a magic Wayfarer word. Like OP's mural example, the word's not a natural part of my local language either. Also:…

You bring up an interesting point. There was a lot of talk about fake accounts up the thead... I really do wonder where that idea came from.
-
As I said, this is extremely off topic. I'd suggest you can open a new thread where you can question me, but I don't know if this content is even allowed on the forums. As I said, you can message me in real life, I'll happily talk with you. @GiladY-PGO already did, I'm sure he can send you my number. I'm eagerly waiting to…

Well, these wayspots are located well over 150 kilometers away from my current location - even if the country weren't currently in lockdown, that's not a trip I'd have made just to report a wayspot. It's frustrating that Wayfarers need to do all this hard, manual work to make up for a faulty feature in the system.
-
I was thinking about it, and I agree with you. This thread is way off topic in its current form. I won't be continuing the discussion about my personal Wayfarer ethics - it seems that nobody outside of my local community cares about it, and those in my community can easily contact me IRL and question me about whatever they…

The featured wayspots section is still very much flawed. I can even give a current example. Two of the current featured wayspots in my area are two structures from the same playground, that have nearly identical titles and descriptions (only one word changed between the two, for "swing" and "carousel"). It's embarrassing…

I was referring to people from outside of Israel, to be honest, since the Israeli users that have commented here so far seem to have their opinion on me cemented already. I mean, I find it curious that you suddenly want to hear my side, seeing as you already quite confidently stated that I have a personal "vendetta"…

Alright, a lot of allegations were thrown around I will not be addressing them at once (mostly because they're outright lies and not worth the time and effort). All in all - and as others have noted before me - I think the comments here talk for themselves. However, if anyone does have any questions to me about specific…

I might try reducing my timer then, thanks for the insight!

You're right, 2 minutes is a lot. I landed on that after 1 minute didn't do the job for me, but I do agree that it's excessive. The exact time required is probably less.
-
I get a lot of nominations from other countries as well. Usually I use Google Translate and most of the time it does the job. Even if the translation isn't pitch perfect, I understand the gist of things. If the nomination in question features some ultra-local elements that I can't understand as an outsider, I either skip…

I'm also curious to hear your reasoning, @Hosette-ING. It's an unusual situation to encounter, hearing another on this perspective will be interesting.
-
...Ah, I gather that I missed something while I was at work. Anyone care to fill me in?
-
Very well said. And you're right, from the product POV, it's really baffling how Niantic is allowing Wayfarer's value as a product to decrease so much. I wouldn't want to buy an AR map that has dog poop bags as a POI. Agreed. The current abuse report system is abysmal. I would at least expect that to be repaired before…

Just hit 20k reviews. Been green/great ever since the red ratings bug was resolved (and even when I was in the red it wasn't for long). Funnily enough, in my early days of reviewing, I used to be able to knock out large quantities of reviews per day without penalty. As time passed, I started getting hit with the 4-day…

Interesting suggestion. In addition to what @BaltiCalling-ING said, I've also noticed that the whole submission progress is much smoother and faster via Ingress. Barely any lagging. While with PoGo there's a lot of lags, much longer loading time, and consistent errors apart from the photo crash one. Another error I often…

It changes from one nomination to the next, but it's always quite prominent, definitely a "lookie here". In the latest instance I saw - just earlier today - the car took literally half the space of the photo. It's always the supporting photos though, so it never show up in-game; and people who aren't "in the know" in the…
-
Similarly, there's a person in my local community who always includes their distinctively-colored car in all their supporting photos. Like a "signature".
-
I was also thinking that 2 wayspots per cell in PoGo could work really well and reduce system abuse in some capacity. Doubt it'll ever happen, though.
-
This thread is like the Wayfarer community experience in a nutshell. A mass of system abusers dogpiling on members who still try to uphold the actual purpose of Wayfarer, while Niantic does... well... ...Yeah.
-
I don't think anything I can say can speak better than this.
-
Thanks for the update. It's a real shame, but at least it won't happen again. Hoping it will be possible to restore at least some of the posts after all.
-
It's tricky. People who really want to insult can do so quite easily without using any of the "classic" slurs and insults.
-
My understanding from past discussions in the forum was that the "hometown" location was meant to represent the place you were born in, the place you know best and have the most local knowledge about. It's a bit of a shaky explanation, because plenty of people move around a lot even as kids, but I believe that was the…

Thanks for clarifying. Is the deleted content gone forever, or can it be restored? A lot of that stuff was very useful for future references.

I used to comment on every review before I learned that it does nothing. Frankly, I don't understand why that feature is even there if it doesn't serve any purpose in practice. If I had faith that the feature could be competently moderated for abuse, then I'd have loved for the comments to be sent to the submitters. But…

I'm seeing it on my end too. It seems that about 10 of my discussions have disappeared. Very odd.
