  • Just to add an addendum to my very first comment- if that cross has some kind of cultural/historical value, it might make it through voting. Someone on the thread mentioned some additional context about them in certain areas. I was not aware of the context previously. At first glance it looked like a basic gravestone.
  • While it's TRUE that valid things get rejected constantly (in Germany, seems to be trail markers. In my area they're easy submissions) I'd still take some of this advice above. It just might save you a few resubmissions. Especially the photosphere bit.
  • I see the reasoning behind the question. I don't really see much of a difference between these and the coin operated rides, honestly. But Niantic specifically said coin operated rides (in some instances) were allowed but didn't mention coin operated games, unless there were a bunch together and could be considered an…
  • I also have noticed a bunch of "invisible " poi produce no spawn points. Both really old ones and new ones, so it doesn't appear that it always works this way.
  • @KoriNoDokutsu-ING since you mentioned it, I'll throw my idea for this out there *again* in the off chance that Niantic reads it and actually considers it. The idea of a different tier of pokestop. I really don't want a berry ****. I'd love it if the invisible POIs showed up intermittently and maybe only for an hour before…
  • Is it on single family, private, residential property? If so, that does make it ineligible and a removal candidate. I can't tell from the information provided. Sometimes when people say something is on private property, they don't mean a single family residence, but just that it's not accessible to the general public.
  • I personally don't think people should reject because your username is on a photosphere. I'm not sure there's even any way around that. I don't think anyone is rejecting or hitting the abuse button because of this, but stranger things have happened!
  • Some things in a cemetery may be eligible- graves of historic persons or famous people are the main ones. Basically, graves where people are expected to visit. I've personally had many historic graves approved in historic cemeteries. There are also frequently things like war monuments in cemeteries which are eligible. But…
  • As a PoGo player, I want the ability to remote submit for a few reasons. One reason IS poor reception a lot of times. I have found many places where reception is fine for playing the game, but my submissions fail over and over because the signal isn't good enough. In those situations, I've had to get 90% done, drive a mile…
  • @JSteve0-ING from my understanding, we don't accept basketball courts (or any sports field/area) because the physical equipment is unique or anything like that. We accept them because they encourage exercise and are frequently community gathering places. In the US at least, even these rough courts sometimes have dozens of…
  • Not always. I have gotten many historic graves approved. Niantics guidance wants these graves to be places people are encouraged/expected to visit, which means it IS an appropriate places for a POI. I'm not sure about other places, but around my area, the cemeteries with historic graves usually are no longer in use- no one…
  • I've never heard/seen evidence that Ingress n is nominations are fast tracked either. It could be a coincidence. When a friend and myself were both submitting around the area, repeatedly, his submissions went into voting BEFORE mine even when mine were submitted a week or more before his. It drove me crazy! But, we're both…
  • Niantic rarely gives their opinions on people's individual examples. Sometimes they do if the community seems split on it. You have 3 people ALL saying they look acceptable. (And now 4 people- I'm not sure what they say, but they are probably eligible). You may be one of the lucky few that gets a direct answer from Niantic…
  • Supposedly, according to Niantic (somewhere in this forum, I'm not sure which thread at the moment) **Upgrades do not move your submission out of the queue faster**. Their purpose is just to show your submission to a much larger review area. With that said, I've had submissions stuck in the queue for weeks- apply an…
  • No, there is no way to get Niantic to either overturn the reviewers decision or a way to get your upgrade back. The only thing you can do is adjust your submission to try and address concerns reviewers may have had, and resubmit. I can't speak Spanish, but based off others' comments- As said, a lot of people misunderstand…
  • I managed to get a registered historic building approved (3 tries) that currently holds the local school district offices (for people not familiar, no kids there. It's offices where school district officials work). And-- it was next door (but separate!) From a school. I'm thankful/surprised it only took 3 tries 😂
  • Yeah this is a big deal. In addition to Casey I figured I'd tag the newer mods. @NianticEG @NianticGiffard
  • ... wait, what? 🤔🙃
  • I even wondered if the submitter could get a little pop up/message stating "A reviewer suggested this adjustment to the title/description. Do you want to accept this suggestion and update your nomination? YES/No" But yeah, probably dreaming 🙃
  • I personally think a sandbox in a park area could qualify as a POI. If there's already a playground POI close, it would probably be considered a part of that. But I do not think an open field is a "playground". In my opinion, *in this context*, I think a playground needs some kind of structure for kids to play on. Whether…
  • I'm curious to see how Niantic deals with this kind of appeal. My guess is that unless the old location is significantly superior they will not revert it. But they may prove me wrong! As a note to the OP, @flrindigo-PGO , niantic doesn't even want us to know the cell system exists and will not openly acknowledge it does. I…
  • This is so odd to me! In my area of the US, trail markers (that meet criteria, named trails) are easy acceptances. I tend to only submit the trailheads though so maybe that helps.
  • I admit I'm too lazy to fine the guideline to quote but for activity related businesses, Niantic wants them to have some extra "oompf". It should be notable in some way (like the largest in the country! That could fit). If it's listed in travel guides as a tourist destination or it's well known for training champions-…
  • Some of my successful business submissions seem to be a combo of business/history. A local diner (in a diner car), an award winning restaurant that also renovated a historic building it took over. Links in support to prove the history/awards was probably crucial. A local meat smokehouse that wins awards for America's best…
  • Oooof. I think you can probably sell it eith a good description but for the main photo, you HAVE to do something man made like the picnic tables. I have not reviewed this. But for the newest one posted here I'd have rejected as natural feature. The quoted AMA is correct, in that basic items like picnic tables aren't…
  • Just because the bank closes doesn't mean it should be rejected. Niantic has long held that we wre to approve eligible nominations even if only employees of certain businesses can access the POI. They actually say that it's an opportunity to make a friend, or, just because it exists doesn't mean you have to use it. There…
  • No one really understands why the rules changed. That's why weve asked repeatedly, yet they keep side stepping it (the September 2020 AMA is the most recent, but the rule change was a year ago I believe). In the US, we also tend to have community centers that are much more than just pools. The one near me has an indoor:…
  • I'm completely astounded that you'd openly admit to creating these. These are not official in any capacity, they're poor quality, and obviously very easily moved/temporary. I hope the people involved lose their ability to submit/review for at least a little while. It is unacceptable to slap up some picture frames and print…
  • The US has a lot if community pools open to the public. For very unclear reasons, Niantic has deemed most pools ineligible. Their example of an eligible pool is one where an Olympic athlete trained. The latest AMA asked them to clarify WHY community pools are now mostly not eligible. But they didn't really answer the "why"…
