@PixieKite84-PGO you have 90% accepted in your area because the original AMA question was asked 9 months before you could submit. At that time the whole group was massively against postboxes being portals. After that it took about 5 months before any postboxes got accepted which was when enough people decided they wanted…

As an Ingress player I have added over 400 new wayspots to the game and only a few of those didn’t end up in Pokemon Go. i love exploring small towns and villages and walking down every street and have thoroughly enjoyed finding many hidden gems. one of my friends In a nearby village gave up on Pokemon early on because…

@gazzas89-PGO most probably because Ingress players actually care about the quality of the portal network as that was the instructions laid out to us by Niantic when we started Operation Portal Recon. it actually matters to us what portals are around whereas PoGo players don’t care as much, it’s just a stop to spin or an…

I have mixed feelings over this. On one hand very cool sign, nice addition to a regular sign street and provides a little history. however on the other hand I wonder how many signs like these there are, your post implies they are very common and imagine if every sign became a wayspot. Would the number of these signs be a…

Just a quick point to stop people worrying about postboxes that are already in game, Niantic do not remove anything already accepted if guidelines change so any postboxes currently in game will stay there quite safely
-
@gazzas89-PGO maybe you don’t remember why we had to make a Postbox chat in the first place because most people were fed up of the arguments over it
-
Most probably because some idiot will fall into the water while hacking/catching etc 😂
-
Your post misses out the actual stats of how many of each postbox there is. also to say the majority of reviewers agrees with you is wrong. It’s a deeply divided issue and neither side could claim to be sure whether most people agree with you.
-
@gazzas89-PGO lmao if you think I’ve “ruined the game for you” because some things shouldn’t be portals. Go investigate your local area a bit better and find genuinely interesting things to submit. There are good things out there but you have to put the effort in to go find them
-
@gazzas89-PGO It was very clear that many people were not happy with the current situation but most had just accepted how it was. you are also Massively overstating the historical importance of them. while it’s a bit interesting and cute we have the cypher on the front of postboxes it isn’t interesting enough to justify…

I hate them tbh, not interesting or unique or culturally special

As I understand it if the buildings main use is for k12 age then it’s a 1*. so a scout hut which also occasionally rents it out for community use is k12 rejection but a community centre which the scouts rent out some evenings would be acceptable.
-
100% agree with @Senmana-ING hopefully people can learn to use the supporting photo properly, I’ve seen some fantastic uses of supporting photo. i always photosphere to help confirm location and try to use the supporting pic to either prove it’s in guidelines or to get a different angle so reviewers can understand why I’m…

Third party text in descriptions has always been 1* for copyright reasons
-
Oh god no, please no. Community Noticeboards are some of the worst examples of accepted points of interest. I work in a supermarket and wouldn’t consider submitting the noticeboard inside for a work portal
-
I agree with @Perringaiden-ING you would not tell friends about your GR postbox at the end of the road. ive made a trip out to see an EViiiR because they are genuinely very rare (because he abdicated immediately so very few very made) and Golden ones I always find out which Olympic medallist it was painted for which is an…

Is it easily safe to walk up to it and touch it? If there is then it’s fine. If the sidewalk/pavement stops before the artwork and it’s a busy road then it wouldn’t be safe to walk up and touch it and it would be a no. if that doesn’t answer your question then post a picture and that will help us decide whether if has safe…

i can’t think what criteria those would meet. food banks are a definite 1* and I would think an animal shelter would be as well
-
can we get some clarification on what types of these bridges are acceptable, im seeing so many tiny little bridges over streams which people are trying to submit under the bridges guidance.
-
Thank you for the quick response @NianticCasey-ING
-
As I understood it 1 portal per sport, so 2 baseball pitches would only get 1 portal but if there was a football pitch next to a baseball pitch then both sports could be nominated separately
-
No, latest guidance is that the wayspot needs something physical to be tied to. If no net then is there any signage or clubhouse or similar
-
As the supporting photo I sometimes have to take a photo of the guidelines and link to it in supporting. Keep trying to submit but sometimes it takes time for enough reviewers to fully understand the guidelines especially when there are changes or clarifications
-
Yes, I think those are perfectly fine, although I couldn’t read that sign at all so hopefully other similar ones are easier to read
-
Just so we have 100% clarification I read that as U.K. sixth form colleges which are mainly for 17-18 year olds (equivalent to American k11/12) is ineligible? Just making sure there is no possible space for ambiguity
-
I thought this was clarified recently that if it was in a guidebook as a recommendation that it was ok. In the U.K. we have the Good Food Guide of the best rated restaurants in the country as an example. I also plan on submitting a national newspapers #1 rated cafe in the country
-
Have you got a picture of these signs?
-
There’s not enough information in your post to understand how close these playgrounds are. have you got an aerial photo to help us understand your argument
-
majority (probably around 90%) of the students will be under k12 age which is why they should be rejected
-
If I’m honest this is a good example that not all wayspots should be in every game. In Ingress this would either be a good chance to make a friend or it would just be another empty portal. with Pokemon Go if these wayspots accidentally end up becoming gyms then it encourages people to trespass to access them.
