If the pin for a pond aerator is placed on the shore instead of where the aerator actually is, then it should be moved to the actual location of the aerator, except that the actual location of the aerator does not have safe pedestrian access. So it should be removed as well. I can guarantee these have been the guidelines…

Based on my extremely limited understanding, while it's based in an exploit, the people taking advantage of it are indeed outright cheating to do so.

Despite the thread about Routes started by Niantic, this isn't really on-topic for the Wayfarer forum. That said... We don't have much official guidance on this, but out of the available reporting reasons, you could argue it falls under a couple different reasons: Dangerous or unsafe area (if the path indicated is largely…

Brief reaction: the article claims that "Every enforcement will be accompanied with a notification to inform and educate the offenders on their policy violation." Yet each of the steps of the ladder says that they will "receive an email to the email address associated with [their] Wayfarer account informing [them] that we…

This is my impression of the entire series (accurate or not) and the reason I've never had any interest in it.
-
No, not in the case of the one rejected recently.
-
Where is this "good pedestrian access?" Because from your photo, it's pretty clear that the raised surface that looks like it could serve as a sidewalk is only accessible from the road itself.
-
(And just to follow up on the above: my choice not to nominate certain types of locations doesn't impact how I review them. I will gladly give them the 5 stars they should be given when I come across them in review.)
-
People choose not to nominate things for a variety of reasons. Personally, there are some types of submissions that I just don't submit, even though many of them would be approve almost automatically, because I either find them uninteresting or don't want to promote them. They're my submissions, and I can prioritize them…

Update: I've been kind of down on routes the past couple days since the route that I can walk during my lunch break was removed and shows an obviously nonsensical rejection reason. Part of the route was blocked by sidewalk construction, so if it showed "temporarily inaccessible," that would at least be true (if a…

I have four suggestions for improvement: 1. The description sounds like advertising material copied from a website. It would be better to just describe the place using more neutral, descriptive language that doesn't sound like it was written by a PR firm. (Also, if it is from their website, note that text taken directly…

No. Upgrades are earned by reviewing nominations and receiving agreements on your reviews. They are also occasionally available through special events like Wayfarer Challenges (which again require reviewing).

Oh wow. Most of my routes now have the statistics showing, and I would never have guessed that some of these routes would have been used so many times. Very neat!
-
New error message for when you're out of route submissions. New to me at least. Running version 0.281.0. I guess I will need to wait a couple weeks. (And also keep closer track of my nominations--I thought I was only at 8 for the last 30 days.)
-
I also thought the example with "you might see me with my dogs!" was a very bizarre thing for them to suggest you put in a description. Especially when it's on the same page as "don't put any personally identifying information." Edit: I think I misread this.
-
Niantic isn't transparent on this for a reason. They don't want people to manipulate the gym creation algorithm. Attempts to do so are considered abuse by Niantic.

Indeed, the words are not interchangeable. If I'm looking for a "great place to play basketball," and you direct me to the sporting goods store down the street, I'm going to be pretty disappointed.
