This is a tricky one. The telescope itself is certainly mass-produced. But I would certainly consider accepting it as the anchor for a scenic viewpoint. So I think a good description and photos would help a lot. I also don't think I would accept more than one in a given area unless they are specifically designated for…

"There’s no longer safe pedestrian access to the Portal." I would say that depends on the particular garage door and how it is used. You seem to be referring largely to garage doors at the entrances/exits of a parking garage, and I would generally agree that in the particular case of a parking garage, if the wayspot is in…

I know this is really off-topic in this forum, but since it's being discussed... If they're not going to do anything about multiaccounting in GO, I wish Niantic would just admit that and say something like "multiple accounts aren't actually against the rules, just please don't use them to do X/Y/Z." (One of those would be…

Edit: Changed my mind.

Just my thoughts: Ideally, I think I'd most like to see a sign nominated as the proxy for the golf course. That seems like the most obvious option to me. A course map could work instead, though. I would tend not to want to use the clubhouse as the proxy for the course as some clubhouses may be eligible on their own, either…

@NianticAaron may be trying to say that this is a sign pointing to the actual point of interest rather than a sign at the point of interest itself, and that the sign alone does not qualify as a wayspot (i.e. the sign itself is "generic," not interesting). That's just my guess, though. Like you, I'd need to see more…

I would expect so.

As I recall, there was a thread at one point where it was acknowledged that "adult-oriented location" was a valid reason for removal, but there is no way to report a wayspot under that particular removal reason. We were told to choose a different removal reason because the team reviews all removal criteria when a wayspot…

It may well be very important to the community. But that's not what the acceptance criteria are. It has to be a great place to be social, to explore, or to exercise (within Niantic's meanings of those terms).

Nothing is hard about that (in most cases). It's also not a requirement for acceptance of a wayspot photo. Assuming you mean "crooked" as in "the edge of the wall is not perfectly vertical in the photo," yes, I do see it now that you point it out. But the angle is hardly significant enough for me to justify a rejection on…

You can attempt to appeal in the Photo Appeals section here. It's primarily for removing ineligible photos, but as I recall they also handle this type of appeal.

What exactly is wrong with the photo orientation?
-
Traffic that bad that they're permanent, huh?

I think there's an imaginary line for me between "decoration" and "art" and this falls more on the "decoration" side of the line. But it's kind of close to the imaginary line, which is why I say I don't think I'd 1-star it. If you had some good evidence to provide that it was designed by an artist or intended as "art"…

They're pretty, but I'm not convinced they stand out enough to be worthy of a wayspot, either. I probably wouldn't 1-star them, but I wouldn't give them a very high rating overall, either (maybe 2-3 stars). That's my impression as a reviewer.

Sure, let's just have someone fly to 5 different airports to report obviously fake wayspot submissions.
-
It's one thing to say that that photo is bad and that it may get the nomination rejected. In fact, I would agree with you on both points. It is another thing, however, to say that the photo is so bad that it should be rejected. From everything Niantic has told us, the "low quality photo" rejection reason should only be…

These are all good points. My brief searches also find the 75% claim mentioned on the sign was in reference to the barbed wire market, which is a far cry from the entire steel market. I would hope a historical society would be a bit more careful than that. Taken together, these things seem fairly suspicious. But now at…

I mean they have your wayspot submission dates and that's theoretically much more embarrassing for them (if only because Appeals haven't been around very long)...
-
Unless there is some indication otherwise on Street View, the pedestrian access is via the fact that the sign (if it exists) is in a wide, well-maintained, grassy str*p alongside the road.

Midwest U.S. opinion: I think I'd likely approve something like this, ideally described as a scenic overlook or viewing platform (as @Gendgi-PGO has suggested). I'd consider taking the primary photo from the deck itself rather than across the pond to show reviewers the gathering/viewing area. It may not be as "nice" a…

Based on the title, I thought this was going to be a thread about triggering the profanity filter with completely inoffensive words.
