this is something multiple ambassadors are working on. So sorry cannot answer this currently
-
No, if it is the same type of wayspot the appeal will not give different results
-
Duration of a live wayspot is not a criteria in the process of evaluating wayspot reports. If the appeal has been rejected it is apparently not deemed as a wayspot of sufficient quality and I would not recommended resubmitting it in that case.
-
You did not receive a warning. So you do not have to worry about getting a ban for submissions. But yes I can see how that email made it seem differently😢
-
The message was an educational one (a very bad one yes!), so the purpose is for you to learn, which needs to be phrased way better :(
-
Appeals can unfortunately not be seen as clarification to criteria. It can happen that appeals are overturned they are still people. And yes trailmarkers are eligible, but next to eligibility there is also acceptance criteria, which states permanent as one of the requirements. You can obviously still argue that stickers…
-
Can you give examples of years old submissions?
-
Sorry, as ambassadors we cannot reinstate wayspots. I do see the extra information you provided, so someone from the Niantic staff can evaluate if it should be reinstated. Thanks for exploring!
-
Thanks for assuming👍️ I have seen more than enough of those sticker trailmarkers that are (half) removed to know that these are not AS permanent as a sign. I never said these were gonna last only a week either, but there is a difference in durability between a proper sign and a sticker. I try to help clarify as to why one…
-
I am trying to provide insight as to why the wayspot was likely removed. I am not in the business of removing stickers, which is also not something I said. You can disagree with it just fine, but do it respectfully.
-
There is a button for that :) . Unfortunately, stickers can be removed and are therefore not as permanent as the sign of the same trail. While I completely agree that both serve as identifiable markers for a trail that is worthy of being a wayspot, this difference in marker type likely resulted in the one being removed. A…

Welcome new ambassadors, looking forward to working together with you all!

If the community does not rate according to the guidelines then it is a good thing that these are being corrected, as falsely approved wayspots promote other wayfinders to submit similar things (which is what was mostly seen with the botting results). If you have examples of little free libraries that are not on PRP,…
-
Little free libraries are often placed on private residential property, which was never allowed for wayspots, we are also working on providing clarifications as people tend to wrongly accept/reject such cases. Mosaic tiles was a whole special story, which was heavily abused, that has nothing to do with hatred towards a…
-
We are working on getting clarifications to such trailmarkers. But unfortunately we cannot work wonders so please give us some time.
-
No you can add as many into one report as you think is reasonable.
-
That is exactly what the form is for, you get an email and you can respond with additional information.
-
You can use this form for reports like this: https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/21-wayfarer/faq/2190-reporting-abuse-in-wayfarer/?l=en&p=web Then someone from Niantic will judge if it is indeed abuse.
-
Too often, how great would it be if you could buy extra whenever you are on a trip and have run out of nomination slots..
-
Everyone is free to report abuse through the right channels and it doesn’t matter where it happens, as long as niantic verified it as abuse they will act accordingly. what you see in game has never been a reflection of what is an acceptable wayspot. For those that remember pre OPR times there were plenty of examples of…
-
You are completely right that the country you are from should not impact whether or not a Wayfinder is submitting abusively. However, the Netherlands has had loads of examples of players gaming the system to have gaming benefits and the botting was a very extreme example, but unfortunately not the only one. And apparently…
-
It was put forward as an example by the thread starter, just wanted to clarify why those likely got removed. So relevant for the discussion and to clarify for others that are confused as to why those are not good wayspots.
-
Consistently submitting nominations against the guidelines is abuse. The timing for it doesn't really matter. Unfortunately the wayspot network in the Netherlands has grown with various examples of wayspots that should have never been approved (and are being cleaned up). That people use those examples as to nominate…
-
These are likely removed, because these tiles can just be bought and placed wherever: https://zinloosgeweld.nl/product/stoeptegel-met-lieveheersbeestje/ It is true some might have been placed as a remembrance, but these are still very generic.
-
Two weeks is not really a long time for wayspot decisions. Please be a bit more patient, there are areas where reviews are taking more than a year unfortunately. Although the recent reviewing challenge in Japan should have helped reducing the backlog over there.
-
Hey you are teaching me something I didn't know before awesome :) . I always have the challenge to submit something when I have a trip of a few days somewhere I haven't been. My wayfarer contribution map has wayspots on several continents :) .
-
Bump thanks :)
-
Awesome challenge. This is one of the cool things about Wayfarer, always making you more aware of what you see around you! Keep up the good work.
-
I still like to use the train of thought for places that promote exploration: Is this a place I believe is significant enough to show to whoever is coming to this city? In that sense I would also weigh to submit (or not). In this particular case I would see this as a variation of a regular streetsign, but it still has the…
-
I can see why you see this as artwork, however, in most cases these are mass produced and appear in other places (don't know if that applies to this specific one), so then it becomes a general do not **** here sign. In any case I would not submit both the playground and the sign for the playground as they can be viewed as…
