Are you for real? Go to your rejected (or duplicated) submission in the wayfarer website, and you'll see an "appeal" button which will escalate it to Niantic.
-
No. I posted that link only to provide the backstory, but nothing happened back then. As I said, I had to use a proper appeal once they've been made available on December.
-
Since we're brainstorming, here's another idea for a completely different workflow which could solve two problems at the same time: 1- you make a submission 2- submission is rejected 3- instead of the "appeal" button, have a "resubmit" button, which does just that, it resubmits a verbatim copy of the nomination if you…

The answer to the question at hand is: yes, you can appeal a nomination flagged as duplicate, I did exactly that in december, and it has been successfully processed. The backstory: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/21507/submission-marked-as-duplicate-but-it-isnt-please-rectify The tl;dr version is that…

ONE of the appeals I filed in December has been processed (and, of course, approved), but the other ones haven't been processed yet.

This issue just costed me an upgrade, because no matter how many times I tried to move the placemark, it always went back to the wrong location, and of course the reviewers rejected that. It was only ~50 metres off because I started the nomination process while I was walking to the spot to save time, but that was enough to…

Oh boy I am SO going to appeal this ridiculous "it's seasonal" rejection: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/20877/how-to-counter-a-ridiculous-its-seasonal-claim Also, a question: can you make it possible to appeal entries wrongly flagged as "duplicated", too? I would REALLY like to overturn this:…

Well, it looks like you were right, I guess that this POI is always going to be wrong. Still, for the bigger question, there should really be a way to dispute this kind of thing. This is my last post in this topic.
-
I didn't know that, time to change my username to "PlzKeepThisGymBlue" then. (jk)
-
On top of that, even if a POI submitted from Pokémon Go does appear in game, there is no reward at all for the trainer who submitted it. In fact, the 2 or 3 gyms that spawned thanks to me in the city where I spend my vacations are constantly occupied by yellow players, which makes me sad but what can I do? It's the game.…

This hasn't been rejected, though. It has been marked as duplicate, which basically means "yeah it's approved but let's stack it on top of something else". Except that that something else is a different thing. As I said, this isn't a subjective complaint, this is an objective mistake by the reviewers, I hoped that a clear…

Can I ask @NianticGiffard for feedback about this? In a nutshell: my submission of a tennis court has been marked as duplicate of a different tennis court down the road. Also did I use the @ thing right? I never used it before because I thought it wasn't polite l, but this isn't a subjective complaint so I would really…

I'll make sure to propose a name change the next time I'll be there to be on the safe side, thanks again for the tip. Now I just hope that someone from Niantic could see this topic and split this "duplicated" POI into the correct two.
-
TheDougie3: no, they're both free to use for everyone. There are buildings nearby, but they're multifamiliar residences for the most part, as I mentioned this is a city mostly used for vacations. The problem here is that it was flagged as a duplicate, which is incorrect, as anyone could tell with 30 seconds of street view.…

Just throwing this out there, I don't have a job, how do I send my resume to Niantic? I can do Italian translations! Some things in Pokémon Go are so wrong...
-
PkmnTrainerJ: The problem is that they don't have unique names, they're generic fields at their best. See, that's a city mostly used for vacations, and there are tennis fields everywhere for the most part (I nominated four more of them within a couple of kilometres), the only problem of those two is that they're somewhat…
-
I actually wrote that in the additional informations, "please note that this isn't a duplicate of field #1", they even look different when you look at them via street view, I can get that one lazy reviewer might mistakingly mark it as a duplicate, but a whole bunch of them? I wouldn't want to nominate it again with the…
-
I'm not sure if that's true, I happened to review submissions that other people made in places where I play, and when I had to look for duplicates on the wayfarer map, there were several POIs which aren't seen in game.
-
So are you saying that "gym" and its translations (e.g. "palestra" in Italian) aren't banned words? Maybe I'll try again eventually. And I'm sorry if I piggybacked on someone else's topic, but I felt it was somewhat relevant.
-
Thanks for the suggestions, I might try again tomorrow or so. Now to address some of your points: yes, it *is* a decoration set up by the wood shop, but I assure you, it's not going anywhere anytime soon, it's been there for at least a decade as far as I can remember, and yes, it does show up in street view. I can't check…
-
I'll admit I didn't write much into the supporting information, I don't like to write too much because I always fear that reviewers would see that as an attempt to sway them, and since I was sure that this would be an easy approval, I only wrote (the Italian equivalent of) "nice wooden statues, safe access because of the…

I, too, once tried to nominate a real-life gym in my city, just to see it rejected right away. I thought that the "gym" word triggered some automatic rejection filter since it's a word used in Pokémon Go? This was before the rejection reasons were visible in languages other than English, so I never knew and I never tried…
-
I wish the "good local voting community" part could be true: I can only get things approved when I am in another city (like this one, when I was on the mountains for the weekend), but everything I nominate in my own city is constantly rejected even faster because there is a group of players who run the show. But that, too,…

Yes, I meant that that specific post could be deleted, not this whole topic, which can indeed be useful. Since I attached a picture, I didn't realise I double posted by mistake (posts with pictures need to be approved by the staff, so I thought it didn't went through and I entered it twice). I see they already rectified…

(I apologise to the staff for the multiple edits, I didn't see that my post needed to be approved)
-
I felt bad when I got an upgrade automatically assigned to a submission which got approved a few hours later, but wow, your case is even more ridiculous.
-
You know what, you are right, I looked around the block and this *is* a school (or at least its backyard): https://www.comprensivotortonaa.it/web/mnu-sc-infanzia-rivalta Too bad that the submission is lost in the system now, who knows how other reviewers are going to evaluate it. I feel bad for not noticing, I was…

Thanks for the comments and I apologise if I wasted your time. I simply thought that they looked like 3D rendered objects without a shadow, badly pasted on a real background, and it confused me.

I wonder, should wayspots on top of high mountains be temporarily disabled during winter? They can and will become unreachable as soon as it starts snowing (and it started snowing earlier today on a mountain less than 100 kilometres from here). Some of them will still reachable on ski, but some of them will just be unsafe.…

For the record, I always give 1★ to those photos with the "taken with my xyz phone" watermark in the bottom left corner.
