@NianticTintino-ING you solicited feedback on this and have received very solid feedback from the Community on this. People have gone so far as to create scripts to fix this for you, but I don't have those scripts and it makes reviewing unnecessarily difficult. Since non-Niantic Wayfarers were able to implement this in…

Niantic's communication, particularly since the baffling rollout of their new system, has truly been below the already-low standard they set. It shouldn't be too much to expect a Community Manager to interact with the community, even if a majority of that communication is simply keeping the community informed. It gives the…

If only they had a dedicated staff member whose job it was to communicate with the community.... 🙄 Folks like Aaron and Thib cannot be reasonably expected to follow up on every forum post, as they have other responsibilities. When they do communicate it's often helpful, informative, or to set the record straight. Niantic…

This is a good decision and a metered response which should hopefully avoid over-burdening the review queue while simultaneously making a slight but demonstrable improvement in the Wayfarer experience. However, the biggest net positive regarding reviews that can be implemented easily enough would be to refund Upgrades for…

Good luck.

Another example that shows a lack of caring about data integrity. They're discussing the importance of the in-game map being updated and accurate, but spend more effort focusing on poorly translating announcements into Japanese than improving the product or being accountable to the community.

I'm familiar with the threats which out-of-touch Niantic employees offered, but it's a false equivalency between the church sign and a sponsored arena. A photo showing State Farm Arena has already been uploaded to the POI, and it's well within the realm of normalcy for stadiums to change sponsorships, readily verifiable,…

No apologies, you're the queen of the forums and the dedication you've exhibited here and your ability to appropriately choose constructive wording is greatly appreciated by all who have come to know it. I don't mind doing rural reviews. It really helps the people in rural areas get Wayspots. I have my bonus location set…

Thank you for your kind words, but allow me to disagree: Allowing free and full reign creates a situation that could become rife with abuse. The problem we're experiencing in Boston is that local reviewers are not empowered to enact any meaningful change. We have someone in rural Massachusetts who keeps renaming signs to…

My apologies, no disrespect was intended. I'm very much aware of the work you put in and didn't mean to come off as dismissive of it. For what it's worth, I submitted in Atlanta in December and had a four-day turnaround. I also can't understand why local reviewers are preventing the Philips Arena Wayspot from being updated…

This was beautiful to read. You've created my favorite forum post. This correctly summarizes our collective experience reviewing here.

You're latching on to one thing there and choosing to attack me over it. While I don't expect you to know or keep track of this, I've mentioned in other communications that due to an injury I've had for over a decade, scrolling webpages en masse is actually extremely painful. It's not an issue of me "refusing to adapt" as…

Thanks! I appreciate your positivity, and I genuinely am stoked for you and your contributions, but you unintentionally made it worse. In order for me to get 400 nominations approved it would take me over 1,125 hours of Wayfaring to earn the Upgrades needed to get them through. That's more than half a year's worth of…

For clarity's sake, I did not say I was quitting, more that I cannot wait to. I have largely quit, as I stopped reviewing once it became painfully obvious that Niantic was not emphasizing quality in their product or community. I believe this is largely due to deliberate decisions (or lack thereof) by Niantic staff, and…

A picnic table is different from a picnic area, and as such I believe there are separate categories for them. A picnic area in a park meets criteria as a good place to socialize. Submit it.

I expected a solution within a reasonable timeframe. It was clear from the beginning that this rollout wasn't planned out for anything other than mobile phones. Instead of taking a short period to get it right after soliciting feedback we've been abandoned despite repeated attempts from the community to be helpful and…

But it's not up to you folks. This was an easy fix that could have been implemented on day 1 and Tintino has ghosted us on it. I and others stopped Wayfaring since the experience is so unusable.

This is not an implied threat of a ban. It is a reminder that they have Terms of Service and if some entitled person keeps trying to violate them the possibility of repercussions exists. The operative quote from the support here is "I have reviewed all the submitted photos to the gym again and found that when the in-game…

If you truly were devout to your religious beliefs wouldn't you be more upset if a church was a Wayspot, because people could be on their phones and disrupting your deeply-held religious beliefs. However, if you believe that rejecting a nomination (which we can only assume was garbage based on the post you've made)…

The NBA instituted a rule change whereby teams can 'challenge' results of a play call. If their challenge is successful because the referees made a mistake, their challenge is returned to them and they can challenge again, with a limit of two challenges per game. It may be really nice to implement a similar system, whereby…

Really the community is that picky that because of something like that. It would reject the stop? Wow IT'S LITERALLY IN THE GUIDELINES THAT YOU AGREED TO WHEN YOU SIGNED UP! DON'T HAVE BODY PARTS IN THE PHOTO! TAKE QUALITY PHOTOS! This photo is at an angle, your fingers are in it for some absurd reason, and you should turn…

Still no movement on this after four months. Is this an issue of incompetence or just pure lack of caring by Niantic?
-
While I agree with you, the term "Emily" is being used all over the forums. I know this and I have visited twice in the last several weeks, as I can no longer be considered actively engaged while Niantic refuses to fix the UI issues they intentionally introduced. It's shocking to me that someone would claim that the…

Does that suggest that they're not spending time on the forums?

66 Upgrades successfully used to add 64 Wayspots, 92 Upgrades received. Wayfarer was defined by the Upgrade issue that broke the experience for a month, and the redesign that forgot about desktop which broke the usability. Usefulness in coastal cities is still negligible.

I'm familiar with Vanilla. It doesn't come with pre-approved censored words by default last I knew (2014). It sounds like they've installed and misconfigured the Civil Tongue plugin, and that's easy enough to configure where barnyard animals that bacon comes from aren't banned.
-
Where's the evidence of this?
-
lol. Niantic approves posts making wild and crazy accusations about them all the time. People have made some of the wildest claims about them being part of a massive global conspiracy or whatever that have included images or edits which have needed to be moderated, and the Niantic moderators approve them and let them go…

If this truly is "Machine Learning" then there needs to be a way to teach it better, which would require user input. Active Wayfarers need to be able to request overrides readily. 1000+ Agreements + Great rating? Allow a review! Refund Upgrades wasted!

Hopefully @NianticTintino-ING / @NianticAaron / whomever can take note of this. It's straightforward and should have been done in October.
