A directional sign simply pointing "to" a potential Waypoint is not eligible. In this instance, the "school playground" would not be eligible either.
-
Perhaps, if so many of your nominations are obviously not eligible, reviewers are beginning to think everything coming from your local patch are just "fake nominations" - ie things flung into the review system in the hope they will eventually become Waypoints when the submitter should clearly know something is not…
-
Shame about the "3rd party text" in the description copied directly from their website - this is a valid reason for rejection. You need to write your own description.
-
Any comments like that on a location edit are trying to influence the reviewer, so it counts as "Abuse" and should be reported.
-
Which of the 3 main Niantic criteria does this meet? I would say none of them, and call this a valid rejection, no matter what reason appears on your system.
-
You get one new appeal every 30 days, so if you use your appeal you have to wait 30 days before you get another. You can appeal a nomination rejection at any time, no limit.
-
Preferred the old version with both map and satallite view available by default. The address is helpful sometimes, but i can live without it.
-
If you mean "Do I read the Waypoint descriptions when playing PoGo or Ingress"? - No If you mean "Do I read the Waypoint descriptions when reviewing", then that depends on what the nomination is for - for your everyday basic "Yes" nominations like a playground or church or noticeboard, usually no, though I do scan over a…

It's a good submission - the play area is open to residents of the building and invited guests. Niantic have said many times these sorts of "restricted" areas are fine as waypoints as there is "public access" with permission etc. THe sign itself relates to parking, not the play area.
-
Simple - a road sign like this is not an eligible candidate. Correctly rejected.
-
If the Waypoint is already in the database and being used in other games, then the photo and location will be visible during the nomination review process and it will get marked as a duplicate.
-
You can be 80m from the bar and still spin your stop...
-
"It doesn't look much, it's basically 1 door, one window shop, with the old coffee mill in the window." Theres your problem in part. Does it meet the Niantic criteria for excercise, socialising or exploration. Probably not.
-
Lets see your nomiation photos and text before we can comment.
-
It may be the Waypoint has "failed" some of the Niantic internal criteria thay apply to "Accepted" waypoints before they can go live. And no, we don't know what those are - the location could be "blocked" for various reasons.
-
Would any of the first tranch of Ambassadors from last year care to comment on their experience of the program, and whether they felt their time was spent usefully on it or not?
-
Yes, though you may have to use the "Invalid Waypoint Appeals" section in this forum to get it removed if your original removal request is denied first time round. In this instance, if the Waypoint is actually a "good" Waypoint and just the location is wrong, don't ask for a removal. To prevent lots of "moving Pokestop…
-
Standard "margin on error" for phone GPS locations is 3 metres, so even if you stand exactly on the Waypoint sometimes it ends up "moved". 3m is an acceptable distance of error.
-
Please define, distance wise, "minor location edits".

**cough** Field Trip *cough*

Does this mean the final end for "generic business" rejections......

Only 817... Currently running at 2.5k 😆 I will now retreat back under my bridge........................ :-)

What are you asking? Do you have a specific question or qestions? If some of your nominations have been rejected, we need to see all the photos and text to comment.
-
Unfortunately, a lot of people seem to work on the basis of "Ohh - theres a thing - lets nominate it because we need a Stop", rather than looking at "the thing" in terms of the Niantic criteria - is it a great place for excerise, exploration or to be social with others that qualifies as a Nomination? Clearly none of these…
-
You answered your query when you typed out the title for this thread - "Sign does meet criteria". This is correct - it should be rejected every time. "Help me nominate better": Find something else to nominate.
-
In a lot of cases, rersidential care homes are considered "sensitive locations". Just because you have "a sign on a building" does not mean it should or will be accepted as a Waypoint. How do you think this facility meets any of the Niantic criteria?
-
Careful when doing this. If the pin is "correct" Niantic don't want you to move the pin just to bring another Waypoint live in a particular game. It can be viewed as Abuse, which can have consequences for your account.
-
Don't forget that most of the "Google Map" type websites generate their 'high resolution' coordinates of pin positions by calculation, whereas the average handheld GPS (e.g. you phone) has a 3m radius of accuracy.
-
These would make good Waypoints, but thy have been correctly rejected. There should be no people or car numberplates visible in your nomination photo. Niantic say photos like this should be rejected.
-
If the description is a direct copy /paste from a website / guidebook / information sheet then that is 3rd part text and should be rejected.
