Thanks for the appeal, @BochumJules-PGO! Based on the evidence provided, we’ve made necessary changes to the Pokéstop/Gym's location.
You should retire this instead. I know disc golf isn't as familiar to most but this is the equivalent of a ball golf green on the course and we know that's not a safe place for a poi. Additionally, many disc golf courses actually have multiple locations for baskets that can be moved regularly. This course does not appear to be such but in the process of looking into the course I discovered this article:
which informs of the course being closed because of an accident. I have no idea if a Niantic poi being on the course contributed but the possibility should be avoided by making it clear that these don't make good poi and removing them when they are brought to your attention.
I have no idea what that is about and why you get involved in places you don't visit in life. I happen to be guest appearances in the club and the course is open again for members of the club and will be playable again for the general public in spring. In addition, it is complete nonsense that disc golf is like lane golf, if you don't play the sport yourself, you shouldn't make this statement. A course that extends over an entire facility fulfills the "discovery" criterion, which is promoted by Niantic. Because, as an outsider, you first have to find the individual baskets (with or without a card). In addition, you move around a lot in the sport. In addition, Niantic has already said several times that they do not delete any wayspots that are not fundamentally against the criteria. That means, as long as the object exists in public and is not on private or school premises, they will not delete it
Oh but I do play the game. I've been playing it since 1995, and I very strongly feel that placing virtual objects that have a potential to attract non players to the baskets is a safety hazard and very disruptive to the game. It is precisely because of my familiarity with the game that I will always speak up about this bad practice.
Then we definitely don't agree. If it were up to you, the game in public spaces would have to be completely abolished and a golf-like situation would have to be created in which the baskets are set up and playable in a restricted area. The fact is, however, the basket is physically tangible at this place in the park. If it were too dangerous, you would have to remove all other POIs in the public park as well, as each POI somewhere could harbor a risk due to the sport. So it is factually nonsense to want to delete the basket. The same would also apply if visitors were to play soccer, there would always be the danger of being hit by a soccer ball somewhere.
