Invalid Portal in Pennsylvania ( 40.29266,-78.194962 ):
Stolen from portal in Maryland (39.269207,-76.779667 ):
Additional information:
As you can see from the photos above, the first POI is fake, using a stolen photo from the real POI which is located at 39.269207,-76.779667 in another state and I guarantee you if you look at the age that it is much older. Furthermore, the "Red Trail" and "Trolley Trail" are clearly marked on the map of benjamin banneker historical park where the original POI is
There is no indication of any such trail in the Pennsylvania. Trolley Trails are converted Rail lines that used to go between towns, very unlikely to find one at a lake
This is the 2nd time I've found photos from trails in Benjamin Banneker Park in Maryland used in fake POI in Pennsylvania. I would not be surprised if the submitter "TheZenL***" had reports against them already. They had other stuff in the area of the invalid portal that I believe are fake as well, but I could not figure out where they might be stolen from
Comments
It’s so disappointing to see local poi being stolen and fakes being put elsewhere. Thank you for this comprehensive explanation of why the Pennsylvania copy is fraudulent and should be removed
Appeal Accepted - Thanks for the appeal, Trainer. We gave this a second look and after reviewing the additional evidence provided, we've decided to retire the Pokéstop/Gym in question.
