Rather shocking is also that you didnt select one in Germany.
Pokemon Go and Ingress is very popular in Germany, but it seems the players here that asked to be Ambassador were turned down by you, because, well, they werent good in your eyes.
That is a slap in the face of every wayfarer here in Germany.
As Niantic is an American company, I feel they thought that one or two from Europe in general would do. (I can’t recall which regions got a representative in full, to be honest)
Yeah, I figured there would be a good distribution of wayfarers from around the globe to represent different areas. Which makes it surprising to me that the 11th ambassador is our 2nd Aussie, when many other areas have a lack of representation, including areas that are being auto-populated with Wayspots.
Ah yes. I know we got BrightonDragon for UK and a representative for Ukraine who I can’t recall (and they have more important stuff going on than Wayfarer right now).
As @GearGlider-ING says, if we have two folks from Australia and none from other places it seems a little biased towards Australia? I get that it is a massive place though.
To be honest, I was expecting a lot more than 12 Ambassadors. When Ingress took on their XMAs, they were going to have 30 and ended up taking on 50 I believe so I was thinking as Wayfarer is a cross-game product for Niantic, they’d have at least 30, and that would have covered many regions.
The community hoped ambassadors would finally begin to help us with some of these issues and with communication... but somehow you managed to even **** up the ambassador program.
We go over the same things over and over and somehow expect a different outcome... are we insane?
36% of the Ambassadors are in North America/Australia, with 0% in Africa 0% in the Middle East, 0% in South America.
I don't want this to be seen as a slight on any of the Ambassadors selected, but leaving one of the promised positions vacant and with no promise on when the pool will be expanded to have greater geographical representation doesn't make me hopeful.
You left out that the EU has zero representation as well. England and Ukraine are both very different than the bulk of Europe, especially countries with huge communities like Germany, France, Spain, etc, which really deserve proper representation.
.... really? L,I,ps is censored ....... why? I mean I know it can go along with other words to be bad, but them in their own aren't any more offensive than head, shoulders, knees, toes, eyes, ears or nose
As to the minus 1 ambassador, seems really unfair to the others that applied, but not only thay, it means that there will be less uptake in the future, if there even is anymore, why apply if they would rather one less than pick a back up
I've never heard of Traxi25 before. Apart from the very minor amount of posts that user has made, I might have expected slightly more.
But it's so odd having two Australian ambassadors considering they have the same number of ambassadors representing the United States and extremely limited in several other regions that are underrepresented. Not that I would not mind if it were me, but there is barely an Australian Wayfarer community here (based on visual first assumptions). Only reason why I'd believe Australia would have gotten an equal representation is because of how often 'Sydney' is mentioned in general discussion, but then nobody from either of the two biggest cities (Sydney and Melbourne) weren't selected either, which would make for a solid ambassador for the main cities.
I know I'll never be selected for the ambassadors program because of the sheer amount of abuse that I report on the daily. So I guess anyone who is fixated or predominantly orients their discussion on curbing abuse is automatically shoved to the wayside. Can't have someone so negative representing the Wayfarer community when it is exactly an ongoing blight and pain point that it is facing so many people throughout the world, can we? I seriously hope that when you have your first meeting with the ambassadors, you actually do something for a change instead of your business as usual procedures and letting things such as appeals and invalid reports rot in a mound, and abuse and poorly moderated forums (especially over the weekend) flourish.
Who is Traxi25 again? I guess they just made a very good application I guess to have been selected and probably referred to their graveyard comment to show evidence. Where's Lachlan?
I think it is sufficiently clear at this point that when I said that "I think I speak for the community", that I did in fact hit the nail on the head. Although I'm not sure who the lone, very out of touch person who disagreed with that comment of mine is, I hope that @NianticTintino will become sensible in realizing that neglecting to choose a 12th ambassador is a major mistake and disservice to the community.
This isn't the type of thing that will be forgotten, that can be buried under the rug, or that Niantic should make tone-deaf snarky gif comments about. This is the type of thing you will be bombarded with on the next AMA (aren't we overdue for that?), and that will be brought up forever. Many veteran Wayfarers will remember the July 2020 AMA where they promised 15 answers and only delivered 11, as well as the outrage that ensued afterwards which got so bad that even after they went back and gave extra answers, the AMA was eventually deleted! This seems like more of the same; overpromising and underdelivering. This will be your legacy if you aren't careful and don't take the time to listen and act appropriately. Please take a better course of action. The community deserves it.
The idea of an Ambassador program instilled hope in many Wayfarers who had lost it, and with this one action, hundreds of your most dedicated Wayfarers, and the backbone of the community, will lose that hope again, possibly forever.
Thinking the same as @HaramDingo-ING that I hadn’t heard of Traxi before today. There’s names I recognise on this forum from this forum, and from other places who are also on the forum.
I guess they made a great application and maybe they’re active in other Wayfarer communities I am not.
I won't say their name but there is an extremely active forum member here who is from Germany and is without a doubt worthy of the position who applied. It wasn't a lack of applicants.

Congratulations to @Traxi25-PGO though!

Really? You couldn’t find a single acceptable ambassador from the whole African continent, Middle East, South America, or Central Europe?
Ah yes. I know we got BrightonDragon for UK and a representative for Ukraine who I can’t recall (and they have more important stuff going on than Wayfarer right now).

The team looking over my application and forum history:
@NianticAtlas @NianticPooja @NianticCasey-ING @NianticDanbocat @NianticTintino @ace-ING The community is not content with the team always cutting us short.
Promises are never kept
Deadline are never met
Bugs are not resolved
Features don't get delivered

kidding :D
ouch... thats what my tag was good for?
Australia - 2

read my ****. The British Community does only have one theme: Is this a georgian Postbox? or is it Edwardian?
Oh great. I quoted this to read what was censored so now I gotta post my comment so it won’t stay drafted here forever.
For anyone wondering, the word is l-i-ps
Technically we (the uk) arent even in Europe cause brexit
No, its qn elizabithian the second one
We’re still in Europe. Just not the EU.

guys, i have to retake my text here. Maybe Niantic didnt select someone from germany because Noone applied!
