This former softball field has been fenced-in, padlocked, and is now abandoned and overgrown. The land, owned by Textron Systems, is pending redevelopment.

This definitely needs to be removed as a portal
The town rejected the developer's offer of a licensing agreement to use the fields, described in 2019 as being "in difficult straits… The base paths are all overgrown. To rebuild the two fields so they could be usable in a safe manner is estimated at a cost $150,000 per field."

Thanks for the appeal, @MeekayCat-ING! We looked at the Wayspot in question and decided that it doesn't meet our criteria for removal now.
Really? NianticVK - the photos show the former softball field is fenced in, privately owned, with NO TRESPASSING signs, and it doesn't qualify for removal? If you go to the park on the south side of the property, wander into the brush, and lean across the fence, you flirt with the 40m mark and the portal drifts in and out of the scanner. How does this not qualify for removal?
They probably won't answer you but I'm just going to take a guess... Although the softball field is overgrown and not currently usable, it would be possible to get it in working order again. The field isn't gone. Also, Niantic doesn't like to judge "quality". As long as the object exists they usually leave it.
