I call a plumber to my house to fix a broken pîpe. She does a great job and the leak is solved when she finishes. When it comes time for payment, I say to her, "I know a water main burst on Oak Street yesterday. I saw your van over there and heard you got a lot of business from the affected property owners in that area, so since you already got a lot of income that way, I don't think you need to be paid for fixing my pîpe."
????????
Just like the plumber's job fixing my pîpe is unrelated to her jobs at the properties on Oak Street, any rewards a Pogo submitter would earn from having a wayspot accepted is unrelated to XP gained from friendship levels.
The fact of the matter is that in Ingress, a small token is given as acknowledgement and compensation for a wayspot accepted, but not in Pogo. Like @HankWolfman-PGO said, it doesn't have to be experience, but something would be nice. And if any other games get Wayfarer access, they should also include a small reward for accepted wayspots on par with Ingress.
Now, if the opinion is that Ingress is lacking in ways to earn AP, that is another issue unrelated to rewards for accepted wayspots.
In this case, the concern was stated to be that Ingress got 1,000 AP and Pokémon GO didn’t, so went to the equivalent of XP in Pokémon GO for comparison.
There’s plenty of ways to get AP on Ingress, but I was just noting there are ways of getting XP on Pokémon GO without fully engaging with game, such as with Gifts.
But as mentioned, this is getting off track and another thread should be made if Pokémon Go submitters want to request rewards for accepted nominations.
I do think it is at least somewhat relevant, and here's why.
First, I understand the AP/XP equivalence. However, the wayfinder you were replying to didn't say that they think that Pogo wayfinders should get XP for accepted wayspots because they think it's hard to get XP Pogo. Instead, they brought up the fact that Ingress wayfinders receive a token reward while Pogo wayfinders don't, and, importantly, that that has been a demotivating factor.
To which you responded, "You don’t need extra XP or extra rewards for Pokémon GO Wayfarers." (Implying that Ingress wayfarers do need the reward they get? Or that submitters in Ingress and Pogo currently get equivalent rewards, which they don't?)
Generally wayfinders agree that getting a portal and/or pokestop in game is reward enough and don't care about a token amount of experience (or stardust, or pokeballs, or whatever). And for those of us who play both games and are experienced wayfinders, we know "why" Ingress submitters get a reward and Pogo submitters don't: simply because each game has its own dev team and Niantic is disorganized. But to those who aren't acquainted with how Niantic operates, doesn't it seem like Ingress wayfinders are getting preferential treatment for doing the same work? I dislike the cr@ppy attitude "Ingress is a dead game that stole my wayspot" posts as much as you do, but many Pogo wayfinders are legitimately and genuinely confused by Pogo's inclusion rules and why the game says "nominate a pokestop" when it's possible for the accepted POI to not appear in Pogo. That is demotivation enough, but then they find out that Ingress wayfinders get a reward (meager as it is) for their accepted wayspot, but they as Pogo players didn't? The earlier commenter said themselves that this fact demotivates them. And we now have a cohort of new submitters that we ideally want to become good nominators and longtime reviewers. But the game that this cohort originates from doesn't get rewards that another game gets for the same action. Wayfinders aren't wrong to call this out.
The most easiest way to alleviate this is to provide the same sort of benefit for approved nominations that turn into Pokestops in Pokemon GO.
If agents receive a key for a portal that is approved, then
Trainers can receive a gift from the Pokestop that they created so they can give it away.
1000AP is all but a drop in the ocean for most agents, if you want to equate that in Pokemon GO, they can just catch a Glameow (its old hitbox) with an excellent throw for 1000XP. Simples.
I do really like the idea of getting a gift because sometimes you nominate them passing through and won't ever go back. A gift would be nice if you want to save the postcard to have a record in game, not just on the Wayfarer site.
Absolutely correct, but I wouldn't find the approach of a small reward in PoGo wrong either. I think you don't need EXp as much, but stardust is a good tool. Also, similar to how you get a key in Ingress, suppose for the Wayspot (PokéStop), you could get a gift from that !? I would also like that accounts that are linked via an e-mail would both receive a reward, regardless of which game the Wayspot was nominated for!
Well, it's like Niantic's idea of minimum collateral.
It would be impossible due to the game system, but it would be nice if it could be set by region, for example, the level gap could be lowered in countries such as Africa and the Middle East, where Niantic game players are underrepresented.
Imagine those players still complaining at Niantic despite everything Niantic gave to them, yet none of them ever laid any single complaint to Ingress or Pikmin Bloom. Or other Niantic games.

I do quite like when someone sends me a gift from a wayspot I've created.
There's not many rewards can beat that.
Well.... maybe the in game t-shirt that was at go fest and a wayfarer pose ...but apart from that....

Hope the new Wayfarers have read the criteria.

With pogo being so generous with lots of double/triple xp events, i dont think there is much difference between lvl 37 & 38

💁🏻♂️ @NianticTintino
Probably worth doing a separate thread for it.
✌🏻
If you still can't access it, please be patient as it's being rolled out over the course of several weeks by the Pokémon GO Team.
🤣

It would be nice if the XP was bumped up and the circle radius to hit waypoints was extended out to the same radius as PoGo stops.
Way back when, some idiot raised this and it was shot down by the Ingress community.
Can't wait to 1 star more dog poop stations!
Oh, there it is!
Now you can spin it to a wayspot on a back street you can't see, but I'd like to know how that accomplishes Niantic's philosophy.
I'd also like to know how the walking distance averages for the trainers have changed.
This is my guess, but I'm thinking that since this was made permanent, they have probably walked less than they did in 2020 when it was locked down.
Imagine those players still complaining at Niantic despite everything Niantic gave to them, yet none of them ever laid any single complaint to Ingress or Pikmin Bloom. Or other Niantic games.
Why bother. Level 37 is so easy to achieve nowadays. Unlike those pre20s days when it was a real gruelling exercise routine
