To look at the trail from OP. Niantic says: A marker with no trail name <-- is NOT Okay. Then that's clear right? Trail markers with the name of the trail: yes. Just an arrow: no. Right? -

yep exactly... a trail will have multiple trail markers (aka Blazes) making them NOT unique.. hence why I don't like making just a generic marker a wayspot. The size does not matter, it is about the function that it serves. The marker is there to ensure that those following the trail and getting exercise, stay on the trail. -

This is a circular argument (a logical fallacy) and should not be used to justify the eligibility of trail markers or any other nomination. What difference does that make? It does nothing to make it a better place to exercise or explore. The requirement of a trail name is a criterion that has been removed years ago. The location is what makes the marker unique. -

I think half the problem is that there are SOOOOOO many different types of ""markers"" and some are clearly wahoo nominations and far many are just bleh. The original post with the image was one of a marker that many people may find bleh. and look some other POI nominations can overwhelm an area with just the one type.…
