Another trail marker discussion

So I have read this argument a lot recently: "Trail markers are eligible but they are not visually unique so I reject them" This basically means that people who argue this way reject all trail markers because pretty much all trail markers are to some extent mass produced and since obviously there is more than one trail… -

I'm not sure what your asking. I think your asking what the difference is between a trail marker and a directional marker (road sign). A directional marker points you to a certain place. The way towards that place is the most efficient way to get to that place. Directional markers to a place have many different starting… -

As Niantic have said, trails need something physical on the ground to "fix" the location of the POI. I'm not going to "Agree" to a photo of just a muddy pathy through some trees being a stop because "its a trail". As for a trail marker, on some Public Footpaths you see a "Public Footpath" marker disc every time the path… -
Re: Another trail marker discussion
I understand the new criteria as such: Must be a permanent physical, tangible, and identifiable place or object, or object that placemarks an area A trail marker is a permanent, physical placemark for an intangible area -the trail-, so it's not the physical pole or sign that you're reviewing, but actually the trail itself.… -
Re: Another trail marker discussion
How can we expect people to do quality reviews if they can't even tell the difference between a traffic sign and a trail marker. Let me try to explain it: Street sign: A sign that has the name of the street on it. It tells you what street you are in. These are not eligible unless there is something special about them.…
