Burns Park Green Trail Marker

Does the trail the sign is on not count as pedestrian access? I know my supporting photo is hard to see the trail but you can see the crosswalk and then clearing in the woods. I highlighted in purple. But there is streetview that allows one to see there is a trail right there so the appeal being denied for no pedestrian… -
National Cycle Network POI

I know a couple of years ago that for a trail marker must have the trail name on it, it cannot just be public footpath/bridleway because these are mass produced signs. Yet Niantic now say it doesn’t have to be a named trail or at least made it very skeptical so where do people stand on national cycle network routes (UK) -

If I'd be to review that sign i would reject it. I recall reading an AMA saying that trail markers are eligible if they have names/distances on them. I understand that in your country that trail marker could be the canon, but just to bring an example, this is one kind of trail marker I usually accept: -
