Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
It was just about these markers in England, as mentioned in @Shottix-ING ’s original post. Unsure as to why the community (part of the community) keeps approving yellow public footpath markers as waypoints, they exist in every single field in England with a public right of way, just because the submitter calls it some made… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
Niantic have said in this forum; "As you are aware, we consider any marker on a hiking trail as acceptable since our goal is to have folks explore. Even a small marker on a trail will encourage players to cover more of the trail if there are more Wayspots on the way." ANY marker on a hiking trail is acceptable. Not any… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
Hiking trail and public foot path are definitely NOT the same thing. Also both terms are used both in US as well as in UK. Yes, hiking trails usually are public foot paths but not every public foot path is a hiking trail. That being said a marker on a public foot path could very well be an eligible wayspot, but arguing… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
These markers are not "in the grey area" They are nothing more than just a sign that says you have permission to walk here. In and of themselves they are uninteresting, generic, boring and pure 1* trash. They are not trail markers but a generic signs You may have a trail on part of a footpath, but in that instance you… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
Thanks for the response. Still quite confused/concerned that in this post you seem to suggest that a route marker (public footpath could be considered a route) if placed in a field can be considered eligable, even though they are all the same across the country and exist in huge numbers. If you consider them a trail then… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
I do think a yellow arrow that can be purchased for £3.99 online and stuck on any fence you see in a field shouldn't be encouraged to be accepted as a waypoint, even the legitimate ones are simply to show a walker a designated path or right of way, if a submitter makes up a trail name then that is falsifying a trail. I… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
When will you get this? The yellow arrow, or painted post itself is not the POI, the trail is the POI with a Trail Marker as the ANCHOR to be used to continued exploration of exercise... Understand the distinction. You cant just nominate a yellow arrow in the middle of the park with no path. Its nothing. But you are… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
After voting for a few thousand submissions (rating "good") and reading this post i thought to have a good reason to submit my stops. but: my named trail markers just got rejected! attached are the two main pictures (2 stops) as well as 1 surrounding picture (where you can see the marker beside the road). story: it is a… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
I very much agree with this and this is how I feel. Many of these are being submitted as a "trail" from one village to the next, they aren't trails, I do agree with others that named trails or walking routes with a searchable name should be approved, but a £3.99 marker which can be bought on ebay and stuck anywhere with no… -
Re: Confirm these markers are not eligable
Hi @RandomExploit-ING thanks for your comments, I have taken time to read through everything you've said. I respect your argument, I feel as though these markers are far too numerical to be an advantage to the game. Yes if you followed the markers you would be walking, but where do they lead you? In my head and others a…
