    They are not. The marker represents a point on the trail for exploration, the actual marker itself is often generic. The relevant word is trail not marker.

    I would say milestones are generally a different thing to trail markers. I get it's maybe to do with translation but confusing the two doesn't really help in the long run. Trail marker

    Any individual trail marker does not have to be of unique manufacture - it is the combination of trail marker and unique location that makes it a unique POI.

    Put the focus on the identifiable section of the trail that the marker represents, not on the marker itself. Not every trail marker is eligible, especially if you cannot identify the specific section of the trail the marker represents without it being a duplicate of another marker.

    After going into Niantic Voting this was rejected. It's a named trail, on a path with no traffic in a green space. I added a photo sphere :/
