Re: Two portals inside firing range
My edited post should reappear soon, but here's my summary of this subject: What I fail to understand, it that your main proof to defend that this portal exist is an article from 2 years ago, that isn't even up to date with the site itself. Yes, the trail did exist 2 years ago, there's no denying, but it does not anymore,… -

Re: Mismatched Location - how would you review this?
I think the decision between the two choices is whether the submission could credibly exist at the location. If it's a marker for a trail, but the actual trail is nowhere nearby, then I would 1*/location mismatch it. if the submission is obviously in the middle of a field but the pin is under heavy tree cover then I would… -
Re: Mile markers
Giffard, who isn’t around any more, once said that basically anything that can be called a trail marker is acceptable, even when they’re generic and part of infrastructure and repetitive and boring and put the reviewer into a coma because they get 30 identical ones in a row, each placed approximately 20 meters from the… -
Re: Why is this walking trail being denied?
Think about it this way. If a trail on its own were eligible, where would the wayspot go? Trails can be many miles long. Do I have to put the wayspot at mile 0? Can I put another wayspot half a mile down the trail? If someone put a wayspot for the trail at mile 52, do I need to deny a wayspot submission at mile 19 (and how… -
Re: Painted fire hydrants

so I said this in the original thread where Casey commented, but the ONLY time I have seen a hydrant in use (car in the parking garage was on fire), we were actually instructed to stand NEAR the hydrant. Because it was across the street from where the fire was, and also across the (other) street from where the firetrucks… -
Re: Deutsche Post Filiale - Running out of ideas
And why is there a rule for eligible candidates, if nearly all of them are declared illegible by the additional conditions? I would compare it to the Trail Marker problem with the condition, that wants the traio name written on the sign. In Eastern Germany it‘s barely given, even for the most famous Hiking trails.… -

Re: Are these directional signs eligible?

You describe as directional markers and I think that is a good description. The y are simply indicating what you will find if you go in that direction. It has the same function as any road sign that might say shops this way for example. So it’s not a trail marker taking you on a specific agreed route. So not eligible. Out… -
More "Print your own Trail Marker" Fake Nominations.

[Apologies if this eventually appears as a duplicate thread. The original thread came through photo-moderation and did get a Niantic comment, but then I tried to edit it to correct a spelling mistake of mine and it seems to have "vanished" - I have had problems with edited comments "dissappearing" before. ] Reviewing…
