Re: More reviewers not reading
Again: do you expect this from everything or is this specific to indoor businesses? Do you reject every football field, playground, trail marker and train station that's "not interesting enough"? Exciting and interesting things are covered under the "exploration" eligibility criterion. However, there are two others -… -
Re: Upload Later Bug - Please Help
Hello! Its happened to me too, have upload 6 nominations later and they all swapped the photos. Can somebody swap the correct photos back? Niantic? Im not happy, all my nominations is wasted if nobody can change the pictures? Kolhuspelare Ekomuseum Trummelsbergs Bruk Informationsskylt Grottor Informationstavla om Kolbotten… -
Re: I haven’t had a nomination accepted yet so I’d like some advice as there’s no feedback. This is one.
The trail marker is definitely valid, but as others have referenced they do have an annoyingly high rejection rate even when valid. If it doesn't appear on streetview it might be worth submitting a photosphere - a lot of people don't understand they should 3* locations where it is likely to be there but doesn't show on… -
Re: Picnic area next to a loch
Wow. So a lovely picnic area by a lake, which might also have nice walking trails to get to it, should be rejected because of the method of manufacture of the benches. And I assume by that logic, any bench on a hiking trail - even one at a fantastic viewpoint - should be rejected if the bench is mass-produced. But a trail… -
Re: THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF THIS MOMS ❤️
Thanks for this and the story behind it. I hope this little bit of exploration and exercise makes a positive difference. When we submit wayspots none of us know how they might be used and what they might end up meaning to individuals. Will there be a trail marker B to encourage a walk to another point? If there is I hope… -
Re: The reasons for rejection chosen by reviewers are not appropriate.
How unfortunate as it can be, number 1 and 3 could be true. Reviewers could have the opinion your picture has not been centered correctly (not the oriented rejection), too wide, or has too many other things on the picture. For number 3, it could be that the trail marker is at or directly near an emergency service station… -
Re: National monuments Canal and Earthen Wall eligibility?
That's an interesting situation - thanks for sharing it. Being 40k long, it's more similar to a trail (than, say, a statue). And the guidance for a trail is that wayspots have to be on a marker of some kind. If I visited your town, I'd be interested in the wall and canal. But I don't think you can pick a spot to pin a… -
Re: Footbridges Rejected
"Temporary or seasonal" is a bit misleading, it's the reason given if the vote is "no" for "Permanent and Distinct". I would say that both bridges are unremarkable (although many unremarkable bridges do seem to get accepted). If the bridges had a trail marker or plaque with their name on then there's a better probability… -
Re: "What is it" ~vs~ "Where is it"?
I think your approach pretty much aligns with mine, even on the trail markers. If the nomination is a trail marker with a map for a hiking and biking trail, it could potentially be a "yes" to all four of those. But if it's in a park, that's still getting a "no," because the nomination is not for the park itself. There are… -
Re: What is a watermark?
I mean. Not only is there no watermark, those are excellent images: they tell me at a glance exactly what and where this is. I think I have pretty high standards when it comes to images, and these more than meet my expectations. I also tend to be hard on trail markers, but I would five star this trail marker in a…
