Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Not every trail marker needs to be a wayspot. Sometimes they are clustered together, I would recommend about 200-300 metres minimum spacing. If you think about the "exploration" criteria, the most useful wayspots guide players along the route. It can be more useful to have a wayspot where the route turns or converges with… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
I dont think you will get an answer. The Team quite rightly do not rule on specific trails. it is up to the individual wayfinder to make the case. For submission I would strongly advise including weblinks to the official sites to demonstrate they are official trail markers. For review i Would look to check if there should… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received

It is only natural that a message which by its content is divisive will cause strong reactions, but can everyone please remember to treat each other with respect. Maybe its time to update the guidelines? A few questions. Quotes from original post by @NianticAaron Trail markers that list the name and other information about… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Once again I find myself extremely disappointed with miscommunication and poor decision making from wayfarer's management. How do you guys miss the plot of your own product so badly? Wayfarer is supposed to be here to allow us, the community, to highlight places of interest that others might find worthwhile to visit. And… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Since leaving a reaction felt insufficient, I'll leave a bit of anecdata here, as well. I worked on passing state park trail markers in a local area for a while since there are relatively few Wayspots deep in the forest (those were mostly historical and/or educational signs); they were previously mostly clustered in the… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
This comment makes no sense. Trails are interesting. The markers just help with following the trail and making sure you get to see all the interesting things that the trail has to offer, many of which might not be eligible to submit by themselves due to being unsigned natural features like meadows or woodlands. This means… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
Wow. Aaron, Aaron, Aaron. How can someone miss the mark on so many levels at the same time? It's honestly amazing. Trail markers that list the name of the trail are good candidates, you say? Then why are trail markers like these: being removed en masse? I'm using your words here. These are not "just numbers or arrows". The… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received

Trail markers and trails meet the EXERCISE criteria. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE INTERESTING. Walking around a round track is not interesting at all, but a round walking track is still eligible because it is a PLACE TO EXERCISE. As for how many and far apart the trail markers are - yes, there has to be some level of reasonable… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
There is a button for that :) . Unfortunately, stickers can be removed and are therefore not as permanent as the sign of the same trail. While I completely agree that both serve as identifiable markers for a trail that is worthy of being a wayspot, this difference in marker type likely resulted in the one being removed. A… -
Re: Trailmarkers - warning received
The stickers can’t be removed easily or in one piece (I think people did try removing them since I have seen some broken ones in other places). And they are made to so survive long. (It is not the colors are gone after one year). I (with the nomination) provide a link to the website with the route, were can be seen the…
