Re: Way/distance markers
Both photos are good waypoints, but the descriptions let them down in two ways. First is that neither photo is *visually* of the Ironmasters Trail. You might be on the Ironmasters Trail, but nothing in the photograph confirms that, so your description doesn't match the photo in either case. The second failure is the… -
Re: Time to chcanges
Way back in the mists of time the guidance was that submissions should be judged more leniently in low density areas. However that only ever applied to very specific types of submissions (such as fire departments and highway rest areas) and is now totally irrelevant since all that guidance was rescinded ages ago, even… -
Re: New home developments
For the clubhouse as its new you would need to include links in the support statement to any offical website confirming its real and there. I'm assuming that reviewers did what I did and did a quick google search for it and came up with no results for it just future planning notes and developers intentions, nothing to say… -
Re: Wayfarer Test Concern (a repeat request)
I think it's still a bad question. The test should use realistic scenarios, and the fact is, if you were to rate the given submission's location accuracy 3 stars on a real submission, you would be doing something wrong. Because you shouldn't be rating the location accuracy for that submission at all. There's no need to ask… -
Re: Canal features
I would say that the locks would be eligible as you quite rightly said they are man made and and are very visually unique. As long as you are setting the Marker in the correct location. As for the bridges I'd have to say they may not be unless part of a named Trail or the numbered plates have some historical or unique… -
Re: No nominations to review at this time for the past 12 hours
Don't. Do the review (but don't submit it). Do something else for 5 minutes. Get a drink. Or a snack. Or go to the bathroom. Or switch to another tab. Hope you remember to get back to the review tab to hit "submit" before the review times out. This is apparently how Niantic wants us to review. Until we get annoyed by the… -
Re: Need Niantic to walk me through reviewing a memorial bench with this system
Can't say I agree with this assessment. I'm not a frequent reviewer so I was certainly not wedded to the old system. In fact I really like the IDEA behind the new system, it makes much more sense than star ratings. The problem is the usability. If something is just plain ineligible, why should I go through the rigmarole of… -
Re: Niantic Appeals - Will they lead to improvements?
There are many more reasons why something might be allowed on appeal after a completely good-faith, legitimate rejection. For example, at one point trail markers had to have a trail name on them. This was clearly stated in the criteria. Nobody who rejected a trail marker without a name on it during that time period should… -
Re: Suggestions for woodland stops?
Woodlands blocking the accuracy aren't generally as bad as you might think.. It's more what you can find in there that fits the criteria in my experience. As has already been said, don't nominate the tree since it will be hit with not meeting the criteria, natural feature and maybe even temporary/seasonal (even though this… -
Re: This Plea for Upgrade Compensation Has Been Brought To You By Four Denied Upgrades In A Week
Look, reviewing can be an absolute slog, especially when the nominations are an onslaught of LFL on PRP, the same trail marker ten times in a row in ten different spots, somebody’s cat, and open lawns that are supposed to be “athletic field #3 of 7”. Someone posted a poll recently about Wayfarer participation and noted the…
