Re: Need confirmation on the eligibility of some items
Thank you for the input. One of my biggest issues with the Wayfarer community can be summed by your phrase: "It's not about what they are, it's about what they represent. They are objects that placemark an area." Many review the items that anchor the submissions instead of the submissions themselves. How many of us have… -
Re: [NL] Do we need half a million wayspots more in the Netherlands?
That picture is not a category of sign that was in the list provided in the other thread. All signs in the other thread have some kind of marking on them that represent a trail. Either a trail name, trail number or trail symbol. This sign does not have that. As I currently understand the guidelines, these signs are not… -
Re: Quantity is quality? NO
Completly agree with that, these two questions are useless as many good POI (according to the rules) are not historical/cultural and/or not unique. I think Niantic should remplace these two question by "Does this POI fit with the selected criteria" and ask submitter to selected what criteria correspond to their nomination,… -
Re: visual uniqueness
Review > Visual Uniqueness "A visually unique nomination should not be something that is common in the area." So, should this particular interpretation of the criteria be applied to the second, third, fourth and fifth iteration of an identical trail marker visible on the "nearby". At what point do repeated identical… -
Re: Google Streetview shutting down today: now what?
I think the solution is, if you're submitting a trailmarker out in the woods etc., the onus is still on you to make it clear. Link to a map, circle where your marker is on an image and collage it with your supporting image, ensure an existing POI/distinguishing feature of the area is your supporting photo. Lots of things… -
A guide to UK reviewing

This was written very quickly by @PkmnTrainerJ-ING and myself ...don't think we have had time to even proof read it A quick guide to reviewing in the UK The United Kingdom (UK) comprises of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This makes the islands not sound part of the UK so just leave out There are historical… -
Re: Add in Wayfarer for rejected nominations "Appeal" button. Make it reviewed by another player.
Since I can't see the specifics of the POI, I can't mention them individually, but I will talk about the examples you mentioned in general terms. First of all, the church sign, the "sign" of the church you are referring to is undeniably a lower rating than the church structure. Especially when the church structure is an… -
Re: Bogus rejection wasting upgrade

Yeah, I got one of the same the other day - the nomination was for the trailhead, not the boot brush sign (those brushes are ubiquitous at all trailheads on these federal properties, as invasive plants are an issue) and I think my photo did show the trail itself at the right angle. Low quality photo? Is it pitch dark,… -
If you can’t find a nominated stop, how do you mark accessibility?
Just interested to know what reviewers are doing when they get something like a trail marker and the submitted photos show that it’s all fine and dandy to stand there, but you can’t see it on satellite or streetview. I will typically 1* the location, but have no idea what to put for the safety. Should I just be 1*… -
Re: Nomination and review decisions when multiple identical objects are separated by a certain distance
@NianticGiffard I still haven't gotten an answer. Is it so difficult to find a clear criterion when it is not a trail marker or another form of playground equipment, but the exact same object, only in a different location? We believe that there are a good number of reviewers who have trouble making clear judgments about…
