Re: Self-adhesive trail markers in the UK - how to get them accepted?
Yes the message I'm getting is that people do consider them too temporary, and regardless of whether that argument has any merit, if that is the case then I won't bother nominating them. I do of course provide proof, however, Niantic's official position is now that fake trail markers are fine and dandy:… -
Re: We need a change to the system...
It was really hard to get my real trail markers and real footbridges accepted even with my photospheres...even if the name of the trail was litterally on google map Seriously most people don't know how to do a photosphere and we should not punish people who approve real trail markers or footbridges because of the people… -
Re: Confused about trail markers
As a reference, the following quote: a) A marker with the trail name on the trail <- Excellent b) A marker with the trail name on a street <- Good c) A marker with no trail name on the trail <- Good d) A marker with no trail name on an open green space area <- Good enough e) A marker with no trail name on the street <- Not… -
Re: Fake Nomination - Wayspot outside a residential house

OK. Here is a geotagged photo taken yesterday. That's as close as I could get on public land. And here is a map of the route of the "Parks & Beyond" orange route, showing the Wayspot is nowhere near the marked route. There are other fake wayspots, that claim to be trail markers on the "Parks & Beyond" trail, but a fake… -
Re: Insufficient evidence that the nomination accurately reflects ...
This is an official looking marker to me, its from my country. There are lots of different trail markers used (every town/trail can use a different kind) but this doesn't look fake at all to me. Also in this country, street view rarely captures trail markers unless they're crossing roads, so often you're not able to verify… -
Re: Please do something against abusive Rejecters!
This is a perfectly fine nomination and I love how there's litterally reviewers in this very topic that brags about rejecting them(actively voting against Niantic's criterias even though Niantic said times and times again they are elligible) The only trail markers that I would reject is if they are obvious attempt at… -
Fake Notice Board?

I've seen some people talking on here in the past about fake trail markers they've found. I've never felt as though I've found a fake one before, but today I reviewed two separate ones where the markers clearly were not nailed into the posts they were stuck to... Anyway, today I may have also bumped into a fake… -
Re: Trail marker
If you try again, in the supporting info section refer reviewers to the September 2020 AMA now listed in help that specifically states: "How should we determine which trail markers are eligible and which are ineligible? As long as the marker represents a trail it should be accepted. It should be something that is on the… -
Re: Remember it's not the reviewer's job to prove that the POI location is correct
Your marker is likely to exist in that area, but that's not the same as "likely to exist in the real-world location". The fake nature signs os see exist in the area, but not a the real-world locations where they are. I hope Niantic accepts your appeal because you seem like an honest person. You're directing your anger at… -
A cluster of fake nominations/portals in Grand Valley, ON discovered in the system

As of the date of this post, a total of 11 portals disguised as trail markers at the Upper Grand Trailway have been approved and online, some are still in voting on Wayfarer. Upon close inspection, every trail marker sign contains the a sign image with the exact same imperfections and fake bolts. Side by side comparison:…
