Re: Appeal turn around time
I got an acceptance - speedy quick! It only took 2 months!!!! I wish I could go ahead appeal my October 2 nomination (still In Queue), so it'll resolve sooner than July. My accepted appeal was the first appeal I made. It's a trail marker in a county park. Thursday when I took a lunch break from work, I saw it In Voting… -
Re: Will anything be done about false rejections?

I feel your frustration. Just had this trail marker rejected as "Nomination appears to be a natural feature (waterfall, mountain, lake, etc.) that is not connected to a man-made object." Didn't even realize the shadow of my arm is in the photo which probably caused the rejection but that wasn't given in the email. Have to… -
Re: We need to go back there -> Into the Woods
@NianticDanbocat Some of our frustration with submission denials can be traced directly to the poor wording on the Wayfarer site. There isn't anything there we can refer to reviewers who have been marking our real, physical signs as a rejection. For examples: They continuously flag the photo as being not good enough. So… -
Re: November Criteria AMA - Topics Thread
There are many many things that were previously well-established and now taken as gospel, thanks to previous conversations (some of which were very long and/or controversial) and AMAs. But with this "cleansing wipe", basically back to zero, I am seeing dozens of conversations where players are hoping that some of these… -
Mass-produced but eligible objects?
Hi all: In the old guidelines, a mass-produced object is eligible if there is cultural or historical value. However, this statement is removed in criteria 3.1. In my opinion, a mass-produced object is eligible in certain contexts. Including: The object is a proxy of an eligible place. There is a historical, cultural, or… -
Re: Restaurants & alike
I think this is where the description is important and almost necessary for an approval. What I interpreted from the comment is that a) a chain may be a hotspot if provided proof and b) local restaurants can still be a generic restaurant unless provided further context. The burden of proof from the submitter is standard… -
Re: Research about the effect of low ratings (1or 2 stars) during review
I have received several "Not historically or culturally significant" rejections since the last 2 ama's which said this line item cannot cause a rejection. I have appealed them to be sure Niantic is aware this rejection reason is actually happening. Not to derail the post about weird rejection reasons that shouldn't happen,… -
I'm losing the will to live here

I'm usually pretty chill about having nominations rejected - sometimes reviewers see something I haven't, and they're actually right! The occasional rogue rejection can be irritating, but I sort of I think the system doesn't have to be perfect in order for it to be useful. It's AMAZING to be able to contribute in such a… -
Re: Appeals - So, so many bad decisions are getting overturned. What next?
I have only my first appeal back - acceptance on a trail rules sign that is the only marker for the trailhead. Another appeal has been In Voting Niantic for a full week. My appeals are from 2017-2019. I don't think anyone should be punished for incorrectly rejecting them. Criteria change all the time, and most probably… -
Re: Help - 2 rejections in a row
"It's not a random sign" vs "new standard of cycling trail signs" standard smells like random ;-) for people outside of belgium: Governements are trying to get more people to go to work by bike, so they try to create bicyle "highways" This sign is a sign that announces an intersection, straign ahead for an industrial zone…
