   Trying to get things right here. So… what do you do? When reviewing trail markers, how on Earth do you honestly complete the visually unique criteria? The trail markers are mass produced and totally a one star. But the trails they mark are absolutely unique; each view different and worth multiple stars. How do you score…

   The whole idea around the trail markers is to bring the trail route to viable to use in niantic games. Missions in Ingress, Route Quest in PoGo. etc etc. Some trail markers can be 30-50 metres on from one marker location, or even closer. Each one in itself is unique in its location.    @TWVer-ING What about when the trail marker blends into the background and you can't see it easily? I've encountered plenty of those in the wild. For me those are no-brainer 1* for visual uniqueness.

   5* if it's the only trail marker in the area. As it's uniqueness to the area you are voting on. If there are other similar trail markers nearby, like in the possible duplicates shown, I usually give a lower mark. Most are at a different angle or have something else like wear and tear that makes it stand out from others so…
