Re: Mass removal of trail markers and exercise locations (Zoetermeer, Netherlands)
This post by Niantic Giffard ( no longer I. Wayfarer team) is taken as a clear guideline this is key part I'll be glad to pitch in for a clearer view. Please check our stance on the below scenarios: a) A marker with the trail name on the trail <- Excellent (Correct) b) A marker with the trail name on a street <- Good… -

Re: Mass removal of trail markers and exercise locations (Zoetermeer, Netherlands)
I've had trail markers rejected just because they are stickers. Yet myself and many others have had the same accepted previously. People seem to think because it’s a sticker it’s temporary. Yet this particular trail was produced on a budget and used already existing posts and infrastructure to put the markers on. I’ve also… -
Re: Mass removal of trail markers and exercise locations (Zoetermeer, Netherlands)
this discussion here is hilarious to me. As it's exactly the discussion we had regarding trail markers (known as trail blazes in the US) and if they are or aren't unique. The actual marker isn't unique per se, as there are multiple. but the marker is unique to the area... it does stand out. As someone said in that other… -
Re: Mass removal of trail markers and exercise locations (Zoetermeer, Netherlands)
the very tricky part is this phrase: "The second point that comes to mind is how many of these trail markers are there? Are they distinguishable and far enough apart that it doesn’t make the others any less unique" Typically on hiking trails they are spaced, out, but often you can see 2 at any given place on the trail. A… -

@NianThib could you, with regard to example 1, give a bit more clarification, especially with https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/45764/confused-about-trail-markers#latest in mind? In that post, quite a similar trailmarker is discussed, whereas at least some reviewers consider it valid. They are… -
Re: Mass removal of trail markers and exercise locations (Zoetermeer, Netherlands)
Well, let's turn it around. Looking at the images, this is how I would review those, according to the criteria. I'd love to here at which point the reasoning is incorrect: 1st: Must meet at least one of the three eligibility criteria A great place for exploration It's is a trail marker. Trail markers are eligible… -
Re: Mass removal of trail markers and exercise locations (Zoetermeer, Netherlands)
It should be about the trail markers function. What it is made of, what size it is or whether it is 2m off the ground or on the ground are all irrelevant. Its function is that the design tells you that you are following a designated trail and in doing so it is promoting exercise. Most are to be found at junctions or when… -
Mass removal of trail markers and exercise locations (Zoetermeer, Netherlands)

Today, many Wayspots have been removed over here. They came into the game during the last few months when everything in the country would get accepted, but these are normal, valid Wayspots that encourage exercise. Most (or even all?) of the removed Wayspots come from two routes: Groene Hartpad ("Green Heart Path"). A very…
