Re: Trail Markers - Quality of trail markers
From what I have seen, this is a very UK-centric thing, so I'm going to try add some outsider perspective on it. In my opinion, they are very poor examples of trail markers (not the worst, but not good either). Yes, they state a "trail" and point in a direction, so therefore they are to be considered to be trail markers.… -
Niantics Support Mess

Yesterday I got a strange mail: Now the funny plot twist: Nothing happened to my ING-Account - I can submit, review, and edit my nominations in wayfarer; especially right before posting this I sent out my 14th submission, 12 of the 14 after receiving this mail. But my PGO-Acc can't acces wayfarer. Both accounts don't share… -
The farce of Vaterstetten
Evrytrhing started with a random report of a photoshop Pikachu powerbox in this thread: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/25150/fake-poi-discovered Since Photoshop fakes are often gregarious animals I checked the other wayspots of that town, and found, that the fake Pikachu was surrounded by a strange… -
Re: The Tradition of Trailmarkers in germany.
Funnily enough, i had lots of luck with painted trailmarkers, because they looked really good and colorful because of the trail symbol. All painted trailmarkers I have seen in germany are made with permanent colors, so those are certainly not temporary. Same is for Stickers, as those get replaced regilarly if… -
Re: Invalid Wayspot Report - faked, does not exist
WHAT EVIDENCE DO YOU NEED??c?! Yes, I am especially frustrated when the Pokémon player (that I know the name of) was bragging to all his friends about this, laughing at how easy it was to take a picture of a book in order to be able to spin a stop from his back yard. I am especially frustrated when I show MULTIPLE photos… -
Re: Wayfarer Criteria Challenge - Discussion
It was entirely predictable that whatever came out of the process it would not solve everything. Wayfarer is about having a framework of guidelines and each nomination is subject to interpretation and bearing in mind a global setting. it’s good to have the discussion in the open forum so we can all contribute, consider the… -
Re: Wayfarer in 2024
that's missing my point though, it was acted by content creators as if any wayspot at any time in any location will get you permanently banned immediately and that is simply not true. Also, a bunch of objects the Dutch community still thinks are acceptable, were never eligible to begin with - not talking about your… -
What determines whether people get the warning email?

Referring to the 'Strange Email Problems' posted on August 30, there have been more reports coming in of wayfinders receiving either of the emails below (where the left are the Ingress-oriented emails and the right are the Pokemon Go-oriented emails). Based on recent observations, the reasons why people might receive this… -
Re: how to deal with reviewer who reject good POIs on porpuse, because they dont like them?
Let me back up from the details of this particular case and address the larger question. How do you address a reviewer who rejects some things because they just don't like them? There's no reason to address that. Niantic's systems have built in mechanisms to address reviewer bias. If one or two reviewers for a particular… -
Rampant Wayfarer abuse in Kiribati

Hello Wayfarers, I want to bring to your attention the absolute rampant abuse of Wayfarer in Kiribati. Kiribati is a Pacific Island nation and has the distinction of being the country with the earliest timezone in the world, UTC+14. For that reason, it’s the ideal location for spoofers in Pokemon Go to “visit” to…
