Re: Come one then. Tell me why this trail marker “does not meet criteria” when it does.
The criteria states trails, not trail markers. If you move the marker from that location and place it elsewhere, that doesn't mean the maker remains valid even though it is no longer on the trail. So focus on what makes that section identifiable from the rest of the trail and use the marker as the physical representation… -

Re: Come one then. Tell me why this trail marker “does not meet criteria” when it does.
Avid U.S.-based trail marker submitter here. It's been my experience that good trail marker submissions usually make it through with a major caveat--any trails that route along sidewalks still have a good chance of getting rejected. And frankly I can kind of see why: they just don't have quite the same "trail-y" energy.… -
Re: Come one then. Tell me why this trail marker “does not meet criteria” when it does.
In my country I'm being overwhelmed with submissions where every single arrow on a trail is being submitted. So that's basically every crossing, etc. For me that would be a reason to reject many of the trail markers, since it's too generic, and making the marker the POI, not the trail. But as I read it, that's not the case… -

Whats the point then. They tell us one thing and say another. I am nominating a trail marker that encourages exercise and exploring. It’s part of the trail that takes you passed Sandgate Castle and Martello Towers historical interesting landmarks. I haven’t just seen a trail marker and gone oh that’s acceptable. It’s where… -
Re: Come one then. Tell me why this trail marker “does not meet criteria” when it does.
In the US trail markers are nearly universally accepted. In reality you aren't submitting the trail marker, as no one would argue that a trail marker on its own is a POI. however the markers are excellent anchors for the trail itself and they often keep track of how far you've been on a trail and confirm that you are still… -
Re: Come one then. Tell me why this trail marker “does not meet criteria” when it does.
The marker is used to anchor the waypoint along the trail. There is no other trail marker/trail waypoint for miles around in this area. It simply gets rejected because it’s metal, I know this for a fact because if it was a disc shape I wouldn’t have to create this thread. It need addressing. Reviewers should know what… -
Re: Come one then. Tell me why this trail marker “does not meet criteria” when it does.
No it isn’t. If you take that from that it’s just how you read it. I’ve done loads of them similar and it works. I’ve targeted no one in my supporting information and ad for “influencing reviewers” isn’t that the point of my supporting information. It’s a simple trail marker along a well known trail that encourages…
