2nd apeal?

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Name:Sacred Heart Parish office
  • Location: I’ll post a SC
  • City:Pass Christian
  • Country:USA

So when I got the original rejection there wasn’t a reason for the rejection but I got back the appeal they gave the reasoning that the building was in a school zone. In defense of the wayfarers there is a building on google maps named “Dedeaux school”. The only issue is 1959 was the last time that building was used as a school. Now it is used as a center for the church(which has a sign approved as a spot) they hold things like retreats and bingo. How do I get a failed appeal to open back up? Thanks

First, here are steps to try if there are no rejection reasons showing on your “Not Accepted” contribution:

  1. Refresh the page.
If that doesn’t work, try this:
  2. Log out and back in to Wayfarer.
If that doesn’t work, try this:
  3. Restart your browser.
None of this works after you have submitted an appeal.

There is no formal process for getting an appeal re-evaluated. Very occasionally, an incorrectly decided appeal rejection will be overturned by staff when posted about here, but it must clearly be a nomination which should have been accepted. If you would like to post screenshots of your nomination, we can try to advise you on a new nomination.

Would you mind explaining how a parish office is a great place to be social/exercise/explore? I don’t find that an office for a church meets any of these criteria, as it’s a place where the church business takes place, unlike the church, which may be a place to be social and worth exploring.

Normal procedure is to resubmit with better evidence if appeal got rejected. Occasionally staff might overturn rejected appeal in this forun but this require a very solid case.

Best option and suggested from the page after appeal rejected is to resubmit.

Moved this to Nomination Support in case you would like to share more complete nomination details as suggested above. As also suggested above, second looks happen, but appear to be happening where a clear case for a mistake is presented.

This isn’t worth resubmitting. A parish office is the church’s business office. I grew up in the church, and am familiar with the one at the church my family went to. I often was sent there to pick up donation envelopes or the weekly bulletin, and it was just the receptionist that was there. I’m no longer a part of said church, but again, am familiar with parish offices.

As I previously asked, I do not see how a parish office is a great place to be social, exercise at, or explore, as it’s just a place of business, as in finances, mailings, things that would happen in an office. I have never once thought of nominating the parish office of the church I grew up in, but have nominated many other POIs there, such as statues, the parish center (think event space).

I personally would look around the church and the surrounding area for POIs that are more likely to be eligible than for something that is not very likely to get approved.
