9 misplaced/stolen trailmarkers and insufficient evidence

Hi Fellow Wayfarers. Im kinda frustated right now, and i dont know what to do anymore!

**PLEASE LOOK AT THE MAP IN THE BUTTOM OF THIS POST *** then it makes more sense

I have this person who actually steals trailmarkers from the local “Orienteering Club” and bring home to the them to their own neighborhood and intentionally put placing them to take a fake photo. At some point they actually sabotaged a Trailmark so they could create a homemade area a sign. But that got removed.

I think that every trailmark has randomly been placed at 5-10 locations until one of them “went thru”. I’m not even exaggerating but i think i had over 50 submussions in this area with all the signs.. it’s tiring

All the numbers in the 40’s are from the football pitch on the west side of the the railway. (40-41-42 are in the same path)

44-45 are from the west side of the pitch. The Common things for every of the mentioned post are that the are leaning on something or sandwiched between the ground and a bench. Number 75 is a standalone post taken a bit north

And the worst part of this is that its so obvious that everybody can see it, but when im telling Niantic about this, they tell me there is not ENOUGH evidence and ask me to take 360 videos

Im starting to believe its AI that is handling these reports, and not actual humans, because it dosent seem like they even looked at it!
And they dont want to delete things, because the more portals/stops the more valuable information they have..

#76 is just put on the wall the right location for that is out in the tall grass. But instead its just leaning on the wall. Not the right loctation

There is two stops with #45 in the same cell, but on the wayfarer map you can see both. I was walking down in the area. And this before/after picture shows easily that the picture was only taken and then if was left in the trees

They are from a biking/hiking route but they are not even out their in their local garden! It runs on another track

Hello,
The team can look into this.
You can report it via this form if you prefer

Note that an orienteering course should just have 1 wayspot to represent the course.

As I wrote in my post. When try to make them look into it. The way there is insufficient evidence.

The fact that you just can look up the coordinates and see there is dublicates of 44&45 and it don’t even ring a bell… is making me thing it’s AI who is answering

This is added today and it’s not even there.. And people are gonna vote this thru… I already know it.

All the good work we do for wayfarer is ruined by kids

Is that stated somewhere? I have submitted every orienteering marker I could find as encouraging to explore the park in locations you might not otherwise seek out. This was years ago, of course, but were even accepted on appeal.

Maybe it depends on what we are calling an orienteering course. These are permanent individual markers that can be combined to create different challenges.

One with markers like this:

(That’s what they look like in the UK).

They aren’t route markers as such and the entire point of orienteering is to find the markers. Having them on a map is antithetical to that. I don’t like them as wayspots but am not sure about the official guidance.

Exactly. The markers are set up with the intention for people to find. Finding them through Pokemon Go is just as much fun as finding them with a terrain map. If people choose to cheat, that is not the fault of having them as a Pokemon Go location. I definitely explored parts of the park I would not have ventured to because of these markers.

But if those with blue colour is moved up to the arrows and I give them the map to prove I’m right and they don’t think that’s evidence enough..? The it’s gonna be the wild west if its allied to manipulating things to own advantage

Not to distract from this topic, but they were discused on old forum and my recollection is that they are like golf courses multiple points of the one sport course. They are not a set trail as there are different routes using different points.

It will be humans tgat are looking at them.
I agree there are duplicates here.

The only trailmark that is there at this position is trailmark #70 the rest is fake.

But it’s hard when nobody is believing you

Okay, if I am not going afoul of any clarification I have missed, then I can agree to disagree. Each of the ones I submitted is a unique point for exploration.

I believe they don’t want to delete things because more gyms means better cashflow = better business
