A ton of old Wayspots, but no Pokestops in my area

  • Wayspot Title: Multiple
  • Location (lat/lon): 42.511904,-71.741090
  • City: Leominster
  • Country: USA
  • Additional Information (if any):

With the recent conversation into apartments/residential, most of these Wayspots no longer exist. Including : Ossanes Imaging, 30 Minute Personal Fitness, MK Dance Center, Casa Bonita Hair Studio, Aprisco Church, The Chains Will Fall Ministry, and Harbor Classic Homes. I have personally confirmed with the owner of the building that these businesses no longer exist here.

I believe this area would be great for pokestop and gym activity due to the 60+ residences added the past year. However, no new ones will appear in game due to the false Wayspots that exist here, and none of the currently existing Wayspots will appear in Pokemon Go.

I believe that most of these are imported Wayspots only to be used for Power Spots. They are the circles here without a photo. Those will not be seen in review and will not affect your nominations from being added. Only the ones in the spaces filled in in purple on this screenshot would block a new Pokestop or gym.

The submitted Wayspots that will affect going live in Pokemon Go are
Empire Athletics
Knights Of Columbus Leominster Post
That second one is blocking National Guard Recruitment Center from becoming a Pokestop or gym because they are in the same L17 S2 cell.

If the Wayspot does not exist, you can report for removal even if it was an import. You can use help chat from the wayfarer website, reporting from the map, or a form listed at the top of the forum.

Since you said the area has been updated, I won’t try to make suggestions on what to submit.

Thank you for the elaborate answer! This is helpful information to have when considering what to nominate and what isn’t worth the effort! Also good to know what will and won’t affect a pokestop appearing after being accepted!

I will begin by reporting the imported Wayspots that no longer exist. Then I will see what can be nominated in squares that are not purple. The nearest place to play on community days is an extremely long walk away, which hurts this part of the community over here that plays. I believe this area has the potential to be a safer space for playing, and isn’t being used to its potential!
