I’m looking for some advice:
My mother’s Pokémon GO account has just been permanently suspended for “using multiple accounts at the same time.” She enjoys playing the game but has never really been interested in Wayfarer, so I would occasionally help with PokéStop nominations and appeals on her behalf.
The suspension happened shortly after a Wayfarer nomination appeal was reviewed and overturned, which made me wonder whether that process triggered an automated review of the account.
One thing that concerns me is that my mother’s account has a username very similar to my own. That was actually her idea when she created the account because she thought it would be fun for our names to match. Looking back, I can see how that might have looked suspicious to an automated system, even though the accounts belong to two different people.
I’m not trying to claim that’s definitely what caused the suspension or accuse Niantic of making a mistake. I’m just trying to understand whether anyone else has experienced something similar or has any advice on the appeals process. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
